No. They’re using the fediverse, which includes instances of mastodon, but they are making their own client/web portal/whatever you wanna call it. They’re making their own version of the thing that mastodon is, and their versions will be on the same network that mastodon is on.
I understand that ActivityPub ≠ Mastodon however from their UI it feels like a fork of Mastodon with all the Meta bs on top, i might be wrong but it just feels like they saw the opportunity and took.
I say this because of even the naming of the app which seems like a direct reference to the Mastodon threads.
