@pluralistic@mamot.fr I like how the Android slam he couldn’t help tossing in shows he feels like he doesn’t have any alternatives.

Hey, yesterday I read an article about streaming services and the author attributed his use of “enshitification” to you, its creator.
I didn’t note it’s creator when it popped up, but, because of that attribution, I’ll know and remember from now on.
Credit where it is due is important.
🏆 to you.
It was this one:

do some people have a point they reach where a conscious decision to use a line of products becomes too closely tied to ego that they end up ignoring or even defending faults?
the psychological components of many successful capitalist endeavors can be both fascinating and unsettling

@pluralistic@mamot.fr I’m a locked in Apple user, but I don’t live in denial. 😂
@pluralistic@mamot.fr I will not own an Apple. If other’s choose to utilize that specific service that is their choice/issue. NMP/Concern.
@pluralistic@mamot.fr Well, it is difficult to confront the fact that you’ve paid extra for a thing and perhaps not gotten your money’s worth. I think that the temptation to delude yourself into believing that you paid extra because 1) you’re a more discerning consumer who can appreciate the superiority of the product you bought and 2) you’re not a plebe who can’t afford the superior product, is very strong.
@pluralistic@mamot.fr yeah, it’s hard to explain how people buy a laptop which can’t drive two monitors despite they have two monitors… and this is new to Apple Silicon, Macbooks have been able to run two monitors since 2011, PCs since 2005 at least.
Oh and you can’t remove the storage from these laptops which frankly should be illegal.
