Except sega who has an one time purchase deal with denuvo so they don’t have to pay monthly fees.
What ist the context here?
Probably fact, that Denuvo protection has not so small monthly fee, and publishers remove drm after some time to reduce costs. Few days ago Star Wars Jedi Survivor had received patch witch removed denuvo.
Denuvo (anti-cheat software and borderline malware) offers their software to videogame companies on a licensing mode, which means companies have to pay periodically to continue using it. That has led to lots of games having Denuvo at release date, but then removing it some years down the line (when piracy isn’t a big threat to their revenues)
