Just seen Substance (2024)
We were looking for a thriller or mystery genre movie and heard Substance before. I did not expect a body horror film 𼲠It's little bit like a Black Mirror episode as well. I think it's effective, it's just dragged out too much,, 2 hours and 21 minutes is just too much. Otherwise I can respect the over-the-topness.
Has anyone seen it, what do you think? Especially curious how it would be to see this in theater. Some parts were really hard to watch.
Loved it personally. Modern and daring, with a fresh celluloid gore aesthetic and a take no prisoners approach. Great performances too. I know some people couldnât stomach parts of it, but I felt it conveyed the right amount of genuine sympathy for the inner struggles of its very flawed protagonists along with anger at the system that profits off them.
Probably the only gory movie that made me happy with myself and being accepting for who I am.
