It’s at the point where it requires enough equipment and skill that I’d recommend just going to a shop for newcomers. But it’s easy enough that you don’t need really need an expensive microscope or rework station so for people who already have some experience under their belt it’s doable as long as they practice on junk boards down to 0201 sized components.

The switch is underpowered for a lot of things but if it’s having trouble with Disco Elysium that’s probably more of a knock on whichever studio handled the port.

V1 switch just needs a jig, simple. V2 switch picofly is affordable and accessible to diy with some soldering skills. With the OLED models they put one of the points underneath a BGA chip making that more difficult.

But getting one installed from an actual shop will still only cost the price of a Nintendo game or two.

We have, she wasn’t into it. She didn’t grow up gaming so she has a couple mobile time waster games and then just overcooked is the one we replay all the time…I’m worn out on overcooked but she loves it.

Well deserved. My wife doesn’t game but still had fun with it. This and overcooked are the only ones that have really worked for her.

A company “accusing” someone of piracy isn’t proof. Access to the internet is almost essential these days. If you can prove a person is pirating prosecute them under the law with fines or even incarceration if warranted. But stripping internet access from someone shouldn’t be seen as an acceptable punishment for a free citizen anyway.

Whoever owns the network attached to the IP address also shouldn’t be responsible for actions of every user. Let’s ban an entire company, college, or government institution from the internet because an IP showed up on a list… dumb ruling.

Again I’m in favor of choosing browsers on install, but lots of Chrome installs on Windows is not the same as being the default.

So much so that you even get this annoying popup from Edge when you try to download Chrome with Edge - which should be against the rules imo.

I agree with going after the Edge Lords and making things more fair…but I’m guessing Chrome is the most used we browser by a long shot even on windows so the “No platform independent browser can aspire to match Edge’s unparalleled distribution advantage on Windows." part feels like users are comfortable stepping over Edge’s corpse to download chrome anyway.

Am I the only one who doesn’t care that much? People should be putting as much of the text/image directly into the body of their lemmy posts anyway to save clicks, a link to reddit when attribution feels necessary seems more appropriate in most cases because if I click the link I probably want to go to the actual source of info not an archive.

I’ll passively watch reddit kill itself with bad decisions I just don’t see the point in going out of my way to avoid linking reddit.
