One of the many many many things I’ve hated about Trump is that it doesn’t even need to specifically align with his interests as long as it doesn’t get in his way.

Republicans: “we’re going to do XYZ.”

Trump: “Will that affect me? If not who cares, have fun.”

Not in that term, but as a concept. I do know it now though so thanks!

I have absofuckinglutley no faith whatsoever in our society to do the right thing in this respect. We value ownership waytoofuckingmuch when it comes to businesses, were never going to get past the argument of “I put forward the capital for this business, I am entitled to all of the profits. Who cares that there is no work for you? No work no pay.”

I forsee a gigantic increase in homelessness and politicians will use that as an excuse to further cut any social spending as they’ll pin all our issues on “communist policies.” :(

It’s looking more and more depressing on that front too…

Apparently we’re discovering that our type of star system with its long periods of stability and lack of local disruptive bodies is incredibly, incredibly, rare… There are a (literal) astronomical amount of systems out there so there’s no way we’re the only one with life, but it’s really looking like there could only be a “handful” of others out there :/

The problem is that the vast majority of them don’t see this in the same way we do, they get their messaging from propaganda outlets that tell them our description of what is happening is completely wrong and revisionist, taking the bite of of the accusation we lay against them as well.

They can be completely well meaning and just want “real history” to be taught, trusting their kids will be intelligent enough to sort out what was really bad or really good. They’ll also try to look elsewhere and say “see white people were slaves too, some countries enslave their own people, it’s not about racism!” They run with whatever messaging they’re given and truly think they are “good people.” They can be good people while still being mislead and spouting garbage…

I’ll never believe ALL Republicans are hot garbage terrible people. I was once a 9/11 truther, I once fell down the rabbit holes of various conspiracies, so I have “faith” that a lot of these people are well meaning and are mislead, that they may at some point finally see what they’ve been told is just a lie. It takes time and a conscious effort to pay attention. I’m an absolute complete and utter moron and if I can climb out of that hole so can others, there isn’t one single, tiny, iota of a thing that makes me special or intelligent if anything there’s more reason to believe I couldn’t escape the rabbit holes.

Then of course there are the hate filled, literal Nazis waving actual Nazi flags… There’s no defense for them lol

I don’t have a link for it, but I read that YouTube is working on a 3 strikes policy for anyone using AdBlock programs… So after the 3rd warning you’re not able to watch anything on YouTube at all…

While true, my theory is that they might also want something else. I use a plate and sometimes she’ll just beg for more anyway even if half of what I gave her is still in the bowl, I’ll give her a tiny bit of something else and she’ll go eat that instead lol

That shit makes me so angry it’s crazy… Socialism for the corporations, “rugged individualism” for the citizens…

Republicans will scream and cry about socialism when we discuss healthcare, but gladly give corporations all the public money/wealth they could possibly want while also allowing them to charge us for the “product” they create…

I feel like when confronted about a “stolen comedy bit” a lot of these people complaining would also argue that “no work is entirely unique, everyone borrows from what already existed before.” But now they’re all coming out of the woodwork for a payday or something… It’s kinda frustrating especially if they kill any private use too…

But what about Bitwarden? What you say about the breach is exactly what I’m worried about when having ONE source that has EVERY password. At least now I have different passwords for different sites so only one can be affected, it’s just a pain in the ass to have to go look them up. I save a portion of my passwords with cryptic messages that only I understand.

I can’t think of anything that hasn’t been hacked, I feel like it’s just a matter of time before these password sites are too if they haven’t already. :/

Or more infuriating is when I AM searching Google and the results bring me to some asshat saying “Just google it bruh.”

The problem is that people were NOT being treated equally and so we had to try to force institutions to accept people they’d otherwise discriminate against. This isn’t going to bring any equality, we’re going to go back to marginalized groups and historically discriminated groups being left out again and rich white people will be back “on top.”

I say this as a white guy with all the advantages society gives me so I’m not some rando asking for a leg up on anyone. It’s not about me.

I never wanted to be stuck in a cubicle in an office so I avoided those types of jobs… Now my dumb uneducated-ass self is stuck in a factory because I never figured out what I DID want to do while my friends spent maybe 4 years in a cubicle and are now all home making tons of money.

I feel like a gigantic moron lol
