  • It has been my experience that when either side says that they are against cancel culture it's not about being against the ability to ruin or deprive their enemies of something. They're against their enemies having the ability to do the same thing to them.

  • I agree with your statement, but we are currently seeing politicians actively ignore their constituents wishes on policy.

Since people don't like hearing what I'm saying I'll reference the situation

Mitch McConnell is actively going against his former constituents and telling Repub reps to go against their constituents over Medicare/Medicaid. Saying "They'll get over it."

Several states voted to uphold abortion rights only to have their elected officials ignore them and ban those rights.

If a human is involved in any capacity, fallibility is built in. We may not like it, but it's a fact.

  • Warframe.

  • Still banging around BO6 and Synduality. Intermittent sessions of FF16 and Space Marine 2. Played some Warframe last night, still grinding for the new frame that just came out.

  • I seem to recall Ghost recon being adjacent. At least in the early days.

  • More Armored Core please.

  • They saw how popular Ready or Not was and thought to themselves "didn't we used to make a game like that?"

  • POTUS you have better things to do then be on Lemmy......

  • Currently playing Mecha Break.

  • It's........not great. But it's one of those "not great" games I can't seem to stop playing. It's a mech based extraction shooter. The shooting is floaty and all over the place, the loot is either materials for making things or crystals that become currency once you extract.

  • The only choice it really limits from the publisher is the choice to decide to stop supporting a game out of nowhere. This new plan would just make it so you have to eventually plan to sunset the game from its "live" elements.

  • Two years later but who cares?! I'm ready!

  • I think......

I think this is it. We're in the "coughing up blood" stage of Xbox divesting from hardware and turning into just a publisher.

  • Buddy, this isn't the navy. The captain isn't going down with the ship. As much as we would all want or hope for them to. If anything, them chopping their workforce down will be seen as them improving the value of the company. The investors are who they actually answer to. And they are going to want them to make them money before they pull out all their investments and crater all those studios.

  • It's a niche game in an already niche genre. Sure, Elden Ring was the first one to crack into the mainstream. But seen as FromSoft somehow managed to sell Souls fans a network test disguised as a game I'd say even if it flipped it'd be a financial success for them.

  • As much as that blows, it does make sense. They bet everything on being bought out and when that fell through they were massively overextended.

  • Exactly! No venture capitalist has ever taken something that could be monetized but wasn't, bought it out, and then proceeded to monetize it into irrelevancy before........

  • Translation: "Once all the hub-bub dies down we intend to as slowly as you'll allow, slip in monetization."

  • Honestly all this reads to me is "The people who made the BioWare games you liked left long ago, and the new people can't hack it."
