  • There is a list. I count 16 Democrats and 21 Republicans.

  • $50,000 ticket though for the real grift.

  • I think he’s correct in stating this administration won’t care if we protest or how large it is. What we hope happens is that the protests get more momentum amongst the politically inert. That momentum could build us up to a general strike which would have more influence once the capitalists bottom line gets impacted. Maybe. IDK. This all sucks.

  • I swear I read a thought experiment on this topic decades ago in a Penthouse or Playboy.

  • Yes, it was the "undue suffering" component that I was thinking of. Thanks for the clarification. What was the reason to do away with them then? They went to flat blades, didn't they? Not sure if bayonets are even current issue for armies any longer. Are they?

  • I believe the triangular bayonets are against the Geneva Convention rules of war now chiefly because of their lethality.

  • Reminds me of a related racing joke:

How do you earn a small fortune in racing?

    Start with a large fortune.

  • AKA being Epsteined.

  • He got fired, but also received $38k for workers comp and for alleged emotional damage from the incident. The pepper sprayees got $30k each from their lawsuits.

  • (Ex NASA employee) David Crisp said it “makes no economic sense to terminate NASA missions that are returning incredibly valuable data,”

Yes, but it makes perfect sabotage sense from a saboteur's perspective.

  • Doubtful. I don't even know how you do that. Take a look at the Veritaseum video on PFAS linked here as it is good at explaining the scope of the problem.

  • Excellent video. I watched it last week. It made me leery of over half the items in my house as possibly contributing to my (unknown) PFAS load. It also makes me want to go test for it just to reveal what's there. One more thing to think about. Yay.

  • UN something, something…

  • There were a few sites that tracked manufacturer adoption of when the telemetry black boxes got installed, but I cannot find the specific ones I referenced a few years ago. You can “shop” for telemetry insurance and check that way too. The car won’t be eligible if it doesn’t have the hardware.

  • Pre-telemetry cars from the naughties are the sweet spot. No cell connection either. New cars are icky.

  • Likely b/c your comment reads like you are stating OP is using it when you probably meant a more general public "you"? That'd be my guess. I think most, if not all, here would agree to not ever use alexa, that bitch.

  • Fuck you! I'm eating!!

  • Yes, that seems to be the case. If you do cancel and move, the new owners won’t get a landline. The carrier in this particular area has also contracted out any rural service work.

  • If I had seen the printed name I would use the Peruvian pronunciation not knowing any better. I got the correct one from the article and given the topic felt it was a playful and appropriate tweak of the spelling so others might know too.
