Okay, I will only go use Reddit when i require information that will be available there and I can’t find it anywhere else.
Lemmy has been nice to me, I find this a better place.

But fucking hell I’m actually surprised on how brain dead people are. Most of my acquaintances have an iPhone. If you scroll down, the App Privacy section is atrocious. How can users not think about why the fuck would a half baked Twitter clone require your sleep schedule.
Can we just agree that Inside is a masterpiece and it’s just ineffable for me.
It’s such a great take on mental health and how he suffered through crippling anxiety.
Throughly enjoyed every bit of it.
Why do people forget that Meta is primarily an advertisement company. Each and every one of their platforms is made purely for data harvesting. Of course it would be sanitised for the advertisers.
Also it’s an half baked app which was made in a hurry and it’s just opportunistic.
Oh fuck, I hate instagram, and I don’t want to see the “intellectual opinions” of my fucking dumb-wit acquaintances who will try hard enough to be viral on a new platform for straight up a month by commenting on everything.
Dunkey clearly is a master at storytelling!
So Twitterification of Reddit.
Oh FFS, OPIndia is a right wing media — almost a BJP’s (Current ruling party) mouthpiece — which also frequently posts fake news and Islamaphobic and xenophobic content. Also, International Fact Checking Network (IFCN) rejected it’s application as a fact checker.
Also, I’m not really sure how much weight the political opinion of a White House singer has.
None IMO. It’s just a very shitty website run with shittier people.
So that means Indian right wing trads and jingoists who plagued Reddit and made literal hate posts are on the fediverse. Fuck.
IMO, Lemmy will never grow as big as Reddit cause of the obvious voluntary hosting/maintenance of the servers. It’s inevitable that sooner or later, the number of users joining will reach a plateau and then decline gradually — this might happen in the first and second week of August — and it’ll just be a viable option as a Reddit alternative, just like Signal is to WhatsApp.
Holy fuck man! As someone who wants to be a Web Dev, it’s really exciting to see open source projects where people develop without any financial incentives! It’s mind boggling how much this community is getting together to improve the experience of everyone!
It’s not about pursuing Reddit to take back the API pricing, at this point people are aware that that’s not gonna happen. Mods also know that if they keep the subreddit private, they’ll soon be removed. I think it’s smart that there is NSFW content in a sub that frequently is shown on r/all. NSFW subs don’t have advertisements, and this will drive away investors.
But yeah, at some point, mods should look for alternatives and just give up IMO. Stop using Reddit altogether.
It was great thinking IMO. They just care about the advertisements and investors. They don’t care about who will watch what content.
Ha! Big tech cropo dick sucking.
Yeah it’s the convenience of use. Fediverse right now is not convenient to use IMO. Most of the people here are somewhat tech savvy and even then many people did face issue of creating an account and were confused about how the whole thing works. Now try explaining all that to a person that just uses Reddit like the company intends them to.
Ah well, I’ll put my energy into Lemmy and Fediverse projects instead.
I think this is a better place than Reddit already. It’s fairly new and people are excited about creating content. But I think in reality, sooner or later every sub will be forced to open, and everything will go back to normal. Of course some of the users would’ve completely migrated to the Fediverse or other platforms, and it’s up to us whether the Fediverse survives or not.
Beep. Boop. Beep.
So this is what spez meant by
Apollo-Related Subreddit Blackouts ‘Will Pass,’ No Significant Revenue Impact So Far.
Man, they really really want that cash, I don’t think Reddit cares at all at this point. They’d be happy with repost bots on their platform.
It’s like what cable networks did back in the day, if you want to view a channel, subscribe to it. We have come full circle.
