It’s not allegory when both religions claim to know objectively how the earth was made and yet contradict each other. Either one of them has to be true.

Which is it then, is there only one or multiple gods? Was the earth conceived from dreams according to Australian Aboriginals, or did a deity created it by his/her own hands according to many other religions? Where is the single truth in this?
And the once PlayStation exclusive games have also been made available to Steam, thereby making them also accessible to Steam Deck. So the latter is infinitely a better choice!
The only conservatives which I give some healthy degree of respect are the European and maybe Japanese conservatives. I can’t comment on conservatives from other places as I don’t know much about them, but the American conservatives are bat shit insane. There are far and few sane American conservatives are drowned by loud crazy ones.
I had a friend who was never christened by her atheist parents and thus never had to be drilled to believe in any religion. Welp, it was rather refreshing to hear someone’s perspective that all the proselytising just sounds nothing to a person who had never been indoctrinated since infancy. Someone from another religion might still consider the stories from other beliefs; but hearing religious story by someond who was never baptised into any religion? For that person they would just say “cool story bro”. Even for myself who is no longer a believer, I still get some pangs in my consciousness brought by early exposure to Christianity. But I am lucky that I have never been extremely indoctrinated and therefore I don’t feel any fear of an eternal damnation in hell for leaving Christianity. Some former Christians, though, essentially have PTSD by being made to feel guilty for leaving, and have existential angst of the possibility hell (the original Torah/Talmud never even mentioned hell so why should Christians believe in one?)
I don’t work in healthcare but I know plenty of people who do. The industry is notoriously understaffed, and of course there are sudden emergencies you have to deal with. Therefore, they pretty much require 24/7 operations.
This reminds me of the current French politics. After the previous legislative elections were won by the left, neoliberal president Macron nonetheless appointed a conservative as his prime minister.
At the end of the day, it’s all about the bottomline.
I would be an anarchist if I weren’t socdem. The problem with anarchism is that it only works on a very small scale, where people know each other well enough to work on mutual understanding. That wouldn’t work on a very large scale due to people having their own ideas. I was told before that anarchism is basically the norm for most of human history and thus it could be implemented. Well, look around, aren’t we already living in anarchism under the nation-state model? Even though there is the United Nations, most of their power is non-binding and could easily be ignored by a more powerful member. And thus we are already living in anarchism; and it’s not working as idealised.
While my parents aren’t bad, they’re just products of their environment that doesn’t teach or encourage critical thinking and being honest to one’s self. They are also bad with communication. They don’t have an iota of self-reflection or even if they do, they do not even attempt to change. But even if they change, it’s too late. My parents said and taught me a lot of things when I was growing up, which in hindsight doesn’t make sense and negatively affected my formative years.
My parents said they’ll be happy to take care of any of my future children; but I gave a disgusted no face and I reckon my parents did not even get the hint.

In fairness, it isn’t like banning one social media website (and a purveyor of misinformation and disinformation at that) will have either national security concern or threatening fundamental freedoms in Brazil. It could be why Brazil had been so bold.
I grew up with religious parents. Looking back, they restricted me from doing things, even innocuous, without explicitly stating we to why. But I know that it’s because they are afraid I “might get ideas”. Fortunately, I have been to good schools and got taught about basic sex education. Ironically, my parents sending me to good school taught me better than being “taught” by my parents who don’t want me to “get bad ideas”.
I didn’t even know Mastodon has an exclusive club streak lol.
I didn’t even know they merged with Activision. And I didn’t even know that the latter has also gone worse than I expected. Which is a shame because I have fond memories of pre-2010s Call of Duty games.
If she gets a moderate Republican (Liz Cheney for example) then it’s not an issue.
Franklin Roosevelt appointed a Republican as secretary of navy. Granted, back then the Democrat/Republican divide wasn’t as polarised as today. But if Harris could appoint a moderate Republican and willing to work with Democrats, then that just might work and soothe the current political polarisation.
Not to mention teaching is a thankless job.
I didn’t know that, thanks for letting me know. However, it seems Lucie herself had previously rejected forming a coalition with Macron’s group according to the Wikipedia article.
I know. But I mean any political mess in France, riots or not, is seen as severe by outsiders but aren’t aware how things work in France.
However, I admit that the situation in Mayotte is in a completely different context and unprecedented for overseas French territory.
Is it just me, or I thought it’s a general consensus long ago that voters have the memory of a goldfish? Why would forgetting the worst of the Trump presidency be any different? Even people have somehow rehabilitated George W. Bush in spite of deliberate lying by his administration, and dragging the United States into a needless conflict for 23 years that cost $1 trillion.
