I also recently started pirating again. The cost is too damn high for all these streaming platforms, not to mention a lot of the base packages have ads/commercials (gross). I use Stremio+Torrentio+Real Debrid (which is insanely cheap compared to purchasing 6 different streaming platforms). Until there is a massive change to how media is circulated this is gonna be my setup.
From my understanding peertube has less restrictions of content compared with youtube. But I could very well be wrong. I’d say upload content to both. It won’t hurt having 2 types of audience and could potentially bring more views. I know several creators that upload to both.
In my experience everyone has to start somewhere. I started with just a simple headset mic and eventually got a Blue Yeti usb mic. You don’t necessarily need a powerful pc. Programs like OBS, especially if you are just recording, can be optimized for lower end PC’s. I recorded on an old laptop for a while and it worked just fine. Start with what you have and upgrade when you can. Good luck!
Or for those without capability to do aux cables, there are cheap Bluetooth receivers that connect to your car radio.
Tbh I never really commented or upvoted anything on reddit. I was always a lurker but when I started with the fediverse I feel like I can actually interact for some reason

As for the drama, I subscribe to a couple Lemmy instances that share the drama through Lemmy, that way I can be in the loop without having to be on the actual website.
Honestly you don’t want a Secret Lab chair. Yes, they can be nice but overly expensive. I’ve tried a couple of them and they just didn’t feel all that good. I suggest going and finding like a Staples or Office Max if you have any in your area. They have a ton of different styles of chairs to try out including gaming chairs and office chairs. Get a feel of what you think would work then shop around that style of chair to come up with the best price

It depends on what you use it for yes, but I’ve been able to sync it between devices using onedrive or google drive. You could also set a local FTP or SSH where you keep the master file then connect each device to it. I understand your point that you may want an app that just does that for you, all I’m saying is this is an option that I like using.
My goto is KeePass. Does everything I need. I like the use of hotkeys and the ability to have complete control over how the autotype works. Plus if you have a fingerprint scanner (phone or laptop or something) you can use autotype with that too. And the program is completely free.
