  • A lot of it is because the only book they all have ever read is the turner diaries. In the book a neonazi group does some terrorism and this magically leads to white people winning a race war.

It's terrible writing written to appeal to terrible people.

  • The field that marketing companies truly excel at the most is advertising their own services. Researching the effectiveness of advertising is difficult because most of the information is presented by the marketing companies themselves. However, most scientific studies agree that advertising through environmental means is ineffective and sometimes can even be harmful to brands.

Marketing usually aims to take advantage of impulsive purchasing behaviour by inundating the potential purchasers environment with advertisement. However, this isn't very effective, most people automatically filter these kinds of ads, or worse are actively annoyed by them. Effective advertising activates the buyers impulsive behavior by engaging with them emotionally, which is why ad space for podcasts and other types of para social relationships are more effective.

I'd say the vast majority of data scraped from personal devices are utilized as tools to market the idea of advertisement to vendors more than they are used to actually market products. Imo marketing is useless for most types of businesses, and is mostly a field of self perpetuating scam artist.

  • Some people's midlife crisis are a prolonged experience.

  • So embarrassing to see a man pushing 60yo roided up and going by the nick name "taz". Is there anything more cringe than a man afflicted with a tasteless case of midlife crisis?

  • They were, but when evaluated against their original claim its pretty apparent they were doing it to establish a whataboutism.

  • I'm sure it is, I can't recall the exact source atm. It was a couple months ago and I'm struggling to remember if it was on the radio or maybe a podcast? I'll search around, if I find it or remember the source I'll shoot you measage

  • I remember this guy, it's captain Stolen Valor

Huge piece of shit that made his political career by lying about his military career. Claims to be an elite sniper who did like 4 combat tours, earning half a dozen medals including a bronze star. In reality he drove an ambulance for 4 years, and there's no evidence he was ever in combat.

I don't really give a shit about stolen Valor, but i do think it's hilarious that his constituents all claim to "support the troops" and then elect this dude.

Edit: apparently there's been updates to his story I didn't know about, the levels of hypocrisy are insane.

Mills is under new and intense scrutiny after Blaze News revealed that he was married in 2014 by a radical imam in Falls Church, Va. The imam, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Hanooti, was a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood, a fundraiser for the terror group Hamas, and an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center in New York. The wedding took place at the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center, where two of the 9/11 hijackers once attended and where notorious terror leader and al-Qaeda propagandist Anwar al-Awlaki was an imam.

  • Tbh, I think a lot of older Jewish people are in a tremendous amount of self denial about the whole scenario. The Jewish community spent generations drilling the idea that being Jewish was basically an antonym to genocide.

I recently listened to an interview of a Jewish professor who specializes in genocide study who talked about his initial internal conflict with admitting what he was witnessing was genocide. The guy did his best not to cry throughout the interview and failed from doing so a couple times. You could still see that he was struggling with a crisis of consciousness and identity, and it was admirable he could overcome it with academic integrity.

It's still not an excuse, but I think it's at least understandable that a people who built a cultural touchstone around their own genocide are largely in a state of disbelief that they are now participating in one.

  • Political brinkmanship is unfortunately part of the democratic process. If it wasn't an option that politicians wanted to hold in their pocket, then they could have legislated it away a long time ago. Having Congress be bicameral was supposed to be a hedge against this sort of behaviour, but even the senators are bat shit insane nowadays.

  • It's because he's attempting to utilize the fact that America was and potentially still is an ethno-state to lessen the culpability of the Israeli ethno-state.

While modern America uses systemic racism to establish an ethnic hierarchy, unlike Israel it doesn't expressly by law prohibit the movement or upward mobility of different ethnicities. Even if it did, that fact would not lessen the culpability of another state doing the same.

    Context and nuance is important.

  • For the vast majority of its history absolutely. It wasn't until the civil rights movement where that was even somewhat debatable.

  • considering Israel is more ethnically diverse

Apartheid South Africa was ethnically diverse...... Still an ethno-state.

Ethno-states aren't defined as lacking diversity, they are defined by an ethnic creating and maintaining a dominant hierarchy of that diversity.

  • Gosh why do people hate the Jews so much. 🫤

The problem with ethno-states is that it makes it super easy for people like yourself to conflate ethnicity with nationality.

People don't hate the Jews, people hate ethno-states who are currently committing a genocide. Many of these people who hate the state of Israel for their genocide are Jews themselves.

  • Lots of people in rural areas still do. Places where cable companies don't offer service because it's not profitable.

  • I feel like calling it AutoPilot is already risking liability, Full Self Driving is just audacious. There's a reason other companies with similar technology have gone with things like driving assistance. This has probably had lawyers at Tesla sweating bullets for years.

  • Yeah, especially with today's political climate. If the other BioShock games came out today they would be labeled anti-american and woke.

  • Tesla’s FSD— Full Self-Driving (Supervised)

Really wonder how many lawyers Musk had to fire before they named it Full Self-Driving^tm

  • It's worth mentioning that the videos perspective and conclusions are made within the lens of a capitalistic economy. Other economic models differ in their needs for economic stability. It's also worth noting that capitalism has its own internal contradictions that have no real solution.

If we extend the logical basis of the video we end up with a scenario where the economy requires infinite growth which requires an infinitely expanding population to sustain. This is just not possible within a closed system with finite resources.

In conclusion we have yet to reach a point of overpopulation, however we aren't very far from it given the compound growth required to sustain the most common economic system we utilize. Humans have used more of our natural resources in the last generation than all generations of the past put together. We will eventually have to change our economic system and adapt one with a much much lower consumption rate, figure ways to limit our population growth, or more than likely both.

  • I mean, therein itself lies the problem ... people are just seen as a statistics, "line must go up" mentality

And your tirade against immigration is in opposition to seeing people as a statistic.....?

If your argument is supposedly against "line goes up mentality" maybe a better target of your claims should be aimed against capitalism, not a poor interpretations of economics claiming how immigrants are bad for the economy.

    also i'm not racist

Just have the same ideas as racist, sure....
