What kind of hell-scape-reality-tv-show-fuckfest dimension have I entered, when a candidate for the Presidential election is being judged, by a fucking laugh?
A laugh?
This is really bottom of the barrel, petty, childhood shit.
The sad thing is, I know there will be people that don’t vote for Harris her because of her laugh. And for every person that doesn’t turn up to the voting stations and vote because of whatever reason they have… remember that there are people that WILL turn up to the polls and believe your country should be run by a misogynistic, racist, uneducated convicted felon…
but hey… at least he doesn’t laugh.
Just remember… voting them out is the only way for them leave office. Even if it’s a shoe in, complacency on voting gives them a chance. Total annihilation sends a stronger message than a close election.
I think it just highlights loose morales for a quick quid. Defrauding a bookmaker with inside knowledge is still fraud.
I regularly had inside information on the winners of certain television “reality” tv shows, and could easily chuck £25 on the winner, knowing that it was easy money… but my own moral compass stopped me from doing it because I thought it was wrong.
I’m not saying that I’m better or worse than anyone, and I can see that the only company I would be defrauding would be a bookmaker… but I saw fraud as fraud, which still didn’t sit right with me.
Thank you for the link. I didn’t realise that Google had a deal with Reddit as well, which explains why it was clearly indexed from Reddit.
I agree that AI doesn’t have a clue what an accurate response is. It’s just not sentient enough to differentiate between shitposting and fact. I also totally agree that an answer given from a search result HAS to be accurate, and we’re heading down a path of a misinformation super highway if LLMs are trained on incorrect data.
I’m confused a little by the LLM’s and datasets here.
OpenAI and Reddit have their partnership for training, so I would have assumed the pizza glue answer would have come from an OpenAI result, but Google doesn’t use OpenAI. How did Google give an answer that was clearly scraped from Reddit?
I fear that, sadly, you won’t have to feel sorry for Navalny’s wife and children for too much longer.
Fuck cancer
ChatGPT has entered the teenage years.
I haven’t thought about that song for literally years…. And now it has wormed its way back in.
This is a really interesting issue within the industry. I work within the film and television industry, both in Australia and the UK, and have never been credited for the roles that I do that, some would argue, should be credited for.
But when you break down something like a mega-Hollywood-super-feature-blockbuster-film like Oppenheimer, the amount of ancillary and auxiliary bodies working on a movie like this, would amount to a credit role that would be very hard to keep track of.
For example, do you credit the data wranglers who might be assisting the DIT, or the courier service who delivers dailies to the post house? Or the team of edit assistants who make proxies for OCM? Do you credit every person who was on craft catering for the entire production run?
On one hand, I can see why it is “consolidated” to team leads, or heads of departments, but personally I think that ANYONE who worked on the film SHOULD be credited, as their time is equally as important as everyone else’s.
I have learnt to accept that my name won’t be appearing in any credit role, despite the hours I put in to make sure it happens, and I am okay with that, but totally understand and support anyone who feels like they should get the recognition… as I said at the start… interesting issue.
It’s a web app, not an Apple Store app, but you can make it “like an app”
The URL below explains it better than my poor mincing of descriptive words!
“When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all”. -God (futurama)
This little quote helps make me thorough in my work
This is rad! Thanks for sharing that… I have now passed it on to a group of friends who will get a kick outta it
I had typewriter classes back then!!! Homework came on “photocopies” from a handcranked machine that had a lot of rollers from memory. I have no idea what it was, but it was witchcraft!
Edit: I looked it up for curiosity sake, and the “witchcraft” machine might have been called a mimeograph.
I got excited when we got a math-coprocessor for our 386 33MHz. I tried my hardest to get a sound blaster card so I didn’t have to use PC speaker to play games (namely TFX), but it was deemed too expensive for little reward.
Bold. I like it, and I am you, just in another body… but bold comment. Let’s see how it fares
I wonder if the declining user count is due to the influx of people trying to get on board, but with such a surge systems fell over. It’s good to see server count/comments and posts on the increase… that shows to me that people are starting to come. It’s the wild frontier days in terms of the mass migration of a lot of people… there will be a learning curve for people to understand, change habits, get used to the “new life on mars” so to speak… but I feel that it will happen. It’s really refreshing to be part of the budding beginnings of what hopefully becomes a new front page of the internet.
It’s impressive from my bystander perspective of how quickly people mobilise, and communities can work together to get something that feels similar to what life was like before the mass migration. It is also refreshing for my brain from the doom and despair of the world to be part of a small group (mainly by lurking) and watching things forge ahead.
