It’s quite telling that the Israeli protesters who stormed domestic IDF bases in defense of an officer accused of using rape as torture (aka war crimes) were not even arrested or charged as terrorists in Israel… yet “direct action” against military contractors abroad — involving apparently no violence or intimidation — IS classified as terrorism.

Trump will designate Reporters Without Borders a terrorist org, and terrorize their reporters using the state.

Literally no photo apps sync in the background. Apple is a trillion dollar company who wield a monopoly over their users computers and data, and you are defending them. Your defense enables enshittification, and capitalisms exploitation of consumers.

This is false. Apple OS’s contain numerous blockers and friction points that not only stop users from storing much of their data in other clouds, but prevent competitors from being able to develop them at all. Apple does this via elevated privileges/processes and proprietary API’s available ONLY to Apple’s own local apps and cloud servers, for example:

- If you backup your photos to iCloud, everything happens in the background with elevated priviliges and “just works”.

- If you backup your photos to ANY other provider, they run in a separate sandboxed process which doesn’t “just work” because the OS can kill it at any time, meaning users often need to leave 3rd party apps open for their photos to sync at all.

This is the same for every 2nd/3rd party service in comparison to Apple/iCloud across Apple OS’s. Nobody can develop a true competitor for anyone who purchased Apple hardware as Apple has access to a range of processes, services, and API’s which are not available to external developers. You can’t boot up an iphone and set Backblaze B2 or Amazon S3 as your authoritative cloud data or backup provider. You must use iCloud, or you get an inferior experience – not because of any technical limitation, but specifically because Apple designed non-Apple integrations to be inferior.

Civil liberty and privacy advocates have been saying that surveillance capitalism and dragnet mass surveillance aren’t just a direct attack on our civil liberties, but were a trojan horse that would be used to attack and dismantle democracy if they weren’t heavily restricted.

Neoliberals and conservatives have spent the last 80 years building big brother FOR fascism, and the fascists used all the tools built by surveillance capitalism to stage their coup. Rather ironically, if the tens of trillions spent to build it went to social services instead, fascism 2.0 may have never materialized.

At this point I’d wager a US military leadership coup + 4 years of marshal law would result in better governance than anyone in the Republican party leading. After 4 more years of an unrestricted Trump, not so sure.

The media is in overdrive performing a neoliberal whitewash — trying to frame “the left” as the reason for center-right neoliberalisms failure — so they can to serve the fascist status quo and push the Overton window to the right.

I’d say the only thing that’s different is the volume and blatantness of the corruption. Selling out the country for profit is always criminal, and it’s so bad they don’t even need to hide it anymore; decades of legalized corruption, putting corporations first, and zero consequences created the conditions for Trump to go mask off .

This is why Liberals doomed America to fascism.

Wealth inequality is worse today than it was during the gilded age a century ago, and you still believe that the Dem’s efforts were good enough to counteract 50 years of neoliberalism; the very conditions establishment democrats helped create. Liberals stuck their head in the sand and promised 4 more years of drowning, so voters chose the fascist who promised to tear it all apart.

The irony is that corporate America and wealthy individuals have been doing this for several decades, and you’re acting like it just started! 50 years of neoliberalism created the conditions for fascism to succeed.
