What if humanity is just some alien kid's secret science project. Their parents found out and got mad about them doing illegal biology experiments and threw us out into the garbage. And thats how we ended up on earth. The milky way is just the alien's trashheap. They forgotten about us for centuries and we accidentally grew into us.
Those councils are literal cancer for modern society. They shaped 90% of what christianity entails these days, meaning only 10% are the actial words of jezus (if you are so inclined). Yet people don't even know about it.
They were political solutions to medieval societal problems. Or they were structural or hierarchical solutions to governance problems in the church. There is nothing religious about them and they are certainly not of this time. Even worse, they are harmful to modern society.
But modern proponents say they offer a welcome break for locals from traffic and noise in a region near New York City that’s teeming with shoppers throughout the week.
I guess this is a valid point, but I wouldn't go live near such a busy place in the first place.
Fair enough, "sensible" is a very subjective term these days, always has been, but now even more. I mean to not leave people out on the street to die in scolding hot temperatures, but rather arrange for decent emergency shelters and ultimately proffesional help to get people back on their feet, or at least off the street.
