  • I understand what you mean by this but I'd like to disagree a little.

Yes a generation is an arbitrary categorization that will have exceptions, but a group of peers born without a 15 year window will have similar expirences. We are shaped by our environments. The struggles, the media, and even the economy is going to have an impact on how these people interact with the world.

Looking at the Baby boomers they are or were a statistically significant generation. Their numbers were huge due to the post war rise in birth rates. Even if you disagree with the arbitrary grouping, you can't dismiss the sharp increase in number of births.

Now on to politics. These large group of people born in the years following world war 2 keep electing individuals near their age. Out of the last 5 presidents all were born within 5 years of each other. Hell 3 of them were born the same year. Except for the Obama years every president for the past 30 years was born in the 1940s that's insane.

  • Why? It's not like you get smarter in your 20s if you have a higher life expectancy. Potentially living to 85 doesn't give you more expirence. Im your 20s you have about 20-29 years of life expirence and knowledge regardless of how old you live.

  • Each new state would get 2 senators added to the senate. You are right about the house of Representatives though

  • Nope didn't say that at all, nice try though. You can be authoritarian and not bomb other countries and you can be authoritarian and bomb other countries.

Foreign affairs dont necessarily effect that determination.

The US I'd say is authoritarian and imperialist.

A country like Saudia Arabia or North Korea is just Authoritarian and tend to at least only meddle with boarding nations.

  • That's cool and all but still irrelevant to the original point. You can be authoritarian to your own citizens domestically without invading other nations.

The US is both imperialist and authoritarian.

  • Look up the definition of authoritarianism. Bombing other countries is not the defining feature of an authoritarian government.

  • West coast gets 6 senators.

The 4 least populous states on the east coast are Maine, Rhode Island, Delaware, and New Hampshire. They get 8 senators with a fraction of the population.

These states have about 5 million people. California alone has nearly 40 million people

  • To be fair if California were to join that would nearly double the Canadian population and that's not even counting the other west coast states.

Assuming equal representation rights those would be some huge changes

  • Unfair, I think the stroke may have harmed his ability to hide his true self

  • This is slander against horses

  • That's the neat part about language, people change it over time. Most people I know use the "s" at the end.

Interestingly our society as it is with "standardized" versions of the language seem to slow down natural changes. Every person could call something Xs but the official documents will always just say X.

I've been to towns where everyone living there calls it a shortened version, but all the legal documents call it by the full name. Including all maps and postal addresses. No one that actually lives there would call the town that. In the past eventually the maps would just change.

  • My dude, you keep saying things I did not say.

I'm not shaming people for talking about the genocide. I'm not saying don't talk about the issue. I encourage you to keep talking about it.

I never said that the DNC wasn't responsible. They 100% hold blame. They should never have skipped the primaries.

I'm solely talking about the election. An election where we had 2 objectively bad choices. And even then 1 choice was miles better. Still fundamentally flawed. Still honestly pretty terrible. And yet still the best choice to reduce harm. I'm talking about how in that moment there were people given the choice to save some lives or ensure many many more are lost and they tricked themselves into believing the only moral choice was to ensure that as many died as possible. So here we are.

I fundamentally disagree with the DNC. And yet I know for a fact that it wouldn't be like it is today. I know that the heritage foundation wouldn't have been given the keys to the country. It is possible to swallow your pride and choose to save others. I'm sorry that you are incapable of that. Hell I'm sorry that we have to do that. I wish I could change things, but right now it's all so fucked up that all I can do is make a choice to save as many lives as possible. And please don't give me the "start an armed revolution" bullshit. Neither you or I will be starting an armed revolution, but I'll admit there is seemingly less options.

Also the "BoTh sIdES ArE LiTtERLy tHe SAmE" argument is just lazy as hell. We can have a nuanced conversation about how they all act to protect corporate wealth and the elite, but there are some very large differences that actually affect peoples lives pretty drastically. The only way you can't find a difference is if you live a privileged life sheltered from the effects of every Republican administration.

  • This may blow your mind but it is possible to be concerned about more than one thing at a time.

The genocide is abhorrent and unfortunately this country is complicity. Any candidate with a chance to win wasn't going to stop it.

However, now we get to have even more suffering. Now we'll probably get 2 genocides for the price of one.

Allow me to complete your quote using the choices you made "First they came for the Palestinians, so I said something. Next they came for the immigrants and I did nothing because I wasn't able to consider any issue other than the Palestinians. Then they came for the Queer community, once again I said nothing because what about the Palestinians? Then they came for me, but I told them that it was impossible for them to come for me because no one has done anything about the genocide of the Palestinians. They laugh and took me anyway."

  • Stop using minorities as a shield

You're telling on yourself. I'm viewing them as people who's lives are now in jeopardy. These are my friends and family we're talking about. You read my truthful fears and decided it was political theater.

Guess what now we get 2 genocides and one gets to be domestic. But keep thinking you're oh so superior.

  • Tell the democratic party this when they insist that the candidate MUST lick rich people's asses

It's kinda funny you assume that I already don't feel this way.

Just when it comes to the day our flawed voting system gave me a choice between fascism or not. There's really no other way to look at it. You can abstain, but that's a vote for fascism.

You can justify it however you want, but your moral superiority comes at the expense of the lives of minorities. That's just the facts of the 2024 election.

  • If what they say was true they wouldn't need to gerrymander

  • I don't?

I love Mamdani. Personally haven't heard much about Fateh but if their policies are similar sign me up.

  • shut the fuck up and listen to your betters next time

See that's the moral superiority complex that handed the MAGA fascists our country.

If it's now "right wing propaganda" to resist and work to prevent fascism and the MAGA takeover of our country so be it
