It's a stepping stone. First they'll target trans people, than anyone LGBTQIA+, then minorities, then anyone with liberal views, then anyone who looks weird to them. That was the purpose of that EO dipshit signed a few weeks back directing is admin to explore how to institutionalize anyone deemed mentally incompetent. All they have to do is declare "x group" is mentally ill and then they'll round em all up. It's fucked.
The difference here is that pilots are rigorously trained and go through constant continuing trainings and recertifications, while someone who wants a driver's license effectively needs to prove they have a pulse and can read at a second grade reading level (at least here in the US). If we actually cared about road safety, we'd raise the bar for a driver's license.
There's a reason redundancy is huge in aviation. All of those redundancies are written in the blood of prior accidents. Same thing with signage in the military.
And year, redundancy for the person flying the plane, or at least monitoring the autopilot is probably a good idea, tough shit for the airlines that want to cut costs.
Iirc any resolution to that extent would likely have to pass through both levels of Congress. But, if enough seats flip in both chambers next year, it could certainly happen. Checks and balances and whatnot.
As Californian who's visiting Texas numerous times, your state can be pretty rad. It's just the incessant politics and your fuckheaded leadership that blows. And the Evangelicals trying to impose their will on the rest of the country.
Not even just trans, but anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community is under threat, or likely will be in the future. I don't blame them one bit for seeking refuge.
Satan: nah fuck that guy, he makes me look like Santa Clause
