One or more people on the board were upset with Sam pushing Open AI towards a “for profit” business model because they wanted to be all altruistic and not paywall things. But they were completely ignorant of the expensive reality of their tech (look up the tons of articles about Open AI burning through money) and after firing Sam, likely got a rude awakening from people in the company showing them the books. Once they realized their out of business in less than a year if they don’t monetize things, suddenly Sam’s ideas aren’t so bad and they know they just fucked the entire company over.

I think the way most Germans have owned the mistakes of Germany past, instead of trying to deny or ignore them, is an example that should be applauded and emulated by the rest of the world.

I totally agree. I think a separate internationally recognized Palestinian state is the only solution to keep Israel from encroaching on any more land than they have. That’s been offered in the past but turned down by the Palestinians. A separate Palestinian state will also not prevent both sides from firing rockets at each other until the end of time.

Great points, but that doesn’t stop Egypt from allowing food, water, humanitarian aid, etc from being brought into Gaza, but people talk like Israel has 100% control over Gaza’s borders.

Besides, if Gaza and the West Bank were officially the state of Palestine, Israel would have no obligation to allow free passage between Israel and Palestine so it would basically be the same as it is now, although I’m assuming that right now there is also a naval blockade.

Palestinian Iranian backed militants have a history of establishing enclaves and starting civil wars within the countries that host them. because of this history.

Good point, but the number of countries sanctioning India would definitely far exceed the number that would retaliate militarily against them. Non-NATO countries would join in on sanctions but would not join the fight, so there would simply be too many sanction targets to retaliate against.

Just because you wouldn’t help your friends in a fight or if they got attacked doesn’t mean everyone is the same as you and just watch while it happens doing nothing.

I’m Canadian so I’ve been considering this from the viewpoint of the one who got attacked. I’m really having trouble believing my friends (other NATO countries) would put their necks out on the line, and I think they would be more cautious in the face of their own nuclear destruction.
