What happened when you bit into it?
I need my coffee. I clicked on the link expecting to see the cost of hot air balloons being incredibly high.
I’m starting to want to learn chess after learning about the password game. I need to go get further!
I’m at about 50/50. I realized I would just scroll a lot through junk and got some time back by not doing that. I set up an RSS feed for a few news websites that has replaced reddit for current events and tech news I care about.
However I haven’t found a good replacement for hobby boards or video games I’m currently playing. I’m on a few game discords but I hate the chat format. I would rather have threads I could read about specifics topics instead of catching up on 100 post an hour with no order. For hobbies, I found that the fediverse has me covered on the selfhosted front, but things like comic books and vinyl really hasn’t taken off that much here.
Weird hearing Mike Reiss’s name without it being tied to The Simpsons.
I really didn’t care too much about what was going on until last night when I realized the horror of sitting in a metal tube, knowing you probably won’t be rescued with a ticking timer of when your resources would run out. It seems like the perfect horror movie but irl. I hope implosion was the cause because the alternative has cause my brain to go into a full panic / existential mode and I am just an observer.
The best ones for me was when I couldn’t find firmware for some older devices anywhere on the internet but some members of Data hoarders would upload it for a short time.
Worst would be getting stalked for a few days due to a disagreement in the comments. I can’t even remember what it was about but for a few days everytime I would post this ass hat would just reply and try to keep arguing. It went on for a few days until I blocked them.
Fun fact, textfiles is Jason Scott’s site. He’s the head archivist at internet archive. Always doing cool stuff if youre bored and have some time to blow this morning.
