  • As a democratic socialist, my goal would not be to abolish capitalism, but to make it serve the majority. I don’t even know how .ml tankies can post this with a straight face given China’s embrace of capitalism. Even the communists are not abolishing capitalism.

  • FPS and RPGs. I actually have played a few side scrollers here and there, but not overly cartoonish ones. I personally don’t find the art style of Hollow Knight appealing.

  • Glad it worked out for the guy and he found a market, but I did give Hollow Knight about 15 minutes of my time and my eyes glazed over because I think I’m perma-bored with cartoonish 2D platformers. So, I do understand where some of those redditors are coming from. That said, there are people who like them, so there is a market out there for them and that’s great.

  • I wonder what they’re going to prioritize now

  • Got one of his flyers in the mail. It’s some cynical bullshit. I’m good on hearing a Republican tell me anything about ruining democracy.

  • Why

  • If only there were something you could’ve done to stop it, Mitch.

  • Sounds like a good way to convince transgender people to buy guns

  • Yeah - the video does clarify that the UK is one of the few places the desiccant one makes sense.

  • How do they manage changes to the site and refreshing the peers with the latest copy?

  • I watched this. It was of interest to me because I must run two dehumidifiers in my house and they use a ton of energy. Unfortunately, this desiccant dehumidifier would use even more energy. Hoping someday someone figures out how to build a more efficient one.

In the meantime, I think manufacturers need to build all dehumidifiers with a repeat cycle timer built in. I find it far more energy efficient to run for some period like 30 minutes till the humidity drops low — like 45%, then shut off for 60-120 minutes while the humidity slowly creeps back up until the cycle repeats. Most dehumidifiers work based on a humidity threshold and will constantly click on and off as the threshold gets crossed. In my experience, this uses a lot more energy. Being in a high cost state it is completely unaffordable.

  • Cause money

  • Dude is aging very rapidly

  • Give it 5 years and cops will just phone in your license plate number and the manufacturer will turn your car off. Or, more realistically, lock the doors and self-drive you to the nearest police station.

  • The cheap food and entertainment serves a purpose though. The underlying game Vegas plays with your psychology is to try to make you feel rich. If they can make the average person feel wealthy by giving them free drinks or letting them stay in a nice room, then they are more likely to spend big in the casino. All the marketing is designed around this too. Keep this in mind if you ever end up in Vegas. I was never really into Vegas myself until I went and learned the history. I can see the charm of it, I just don’t get carried away.

  • Annual visitation took a dip during Covid and afterwards but largely recovered as recently as 2024. Pre-Covid visitation was roughly 42+ million/ year. In 2024, there were 41+ million visitors. I think it’s true that prices have gone up, but haven’t seen any data. I’m not convinced that the expense is the driver of this trend though… possibly a brewing recession, but the biggest difference from last year is US policy.

  • Someday when all the Palestinians are dead, the world will reckon with what it did to this population. Same way they now talk about the native Americans or something — except we are supposed to know better now.

  • People will make their own anecdotal gripes about Vegas, but the real reason is the Trump administration’s insane border and trade policies driving away international visitors as they fear getting arbitrarily detained or they actively boycott the US.
