Frank Nonce?
Frank Nonce?
But that’s not the campaign. This is citizens telling other citizens that not casting a vote IS voting - for the obviously worse candidate.
No, you’re one of the few names I recognize here that I enjoy seeing around
Before we get off on the wrong foot, I want to say that you and I have a lot of positive interactions on this site and I generally agree with you.
This is a meme for an edgy freshman with Fight Club and Joker posters in their room. A scripted science show with a limited scope and a decent budget that was cherry picked for being one season vs a cheap, fast reality show that was also cherry picked for its longevity is a bad comparison and doesn’t imply anything about the intelligence of a country.
But instead of defending it, all of your replies are just “look at this other way Americans are stupid!” which just makes it seem like you are that high schooler caricature I described earlier.
I KNOW you’re not a teenager and I’ve always seen you act better than that in other threads so what going on with this one?
Duck Dynasty?? Is this meme from the 2005 collection or is it 2006?
She dreams in color, she dreams in red… Can’t find a betting man…
I didn’t say there was no use, I said there was very little benefit.
Your only reasoning for saying it will be something people wouldn’t be able to live without is that it will save you time when you forget to bookmark something you want to find 6 months ago. I don’t find that compelling at all and I can’t fathom it being a “must have” feature for 99.99% of people.
To your edit, it is unquestionably a trade off. You are being monitored by Microsoft. Screenshots of your computer will be uploaded to their servers regularly. It doesn’t matter what happens with them - that information is now out there. Even if it was impossible to hack Microsoft (lol), there is no way to spin this to say you aren’t giving up privacy. Until this is feature is completely offline with no telemetry going to a corporation, it is a privacy nightmare.
Windows 11 is free and as the saying goes, “if you’re not paying for it, YOU are the product.” So yes, most people think this is bad no matter what.
FWIW I did not downvote either of your comments
So what you’re saying is…if you remember to save things, you’re giving up your privacy/security for nothing?
Those are such weak use cases for letting Microsoft take screenshots of my computer like the DPRK. The one time a year I might find it useful is just not worth the risk. And I really don’t like this being thrust upon less-techy people who don’t understand what they’re giving up.
What is important about this?
What will this allow me to do that I wasn’t able to before?
What benefit does this feature have to the average user? What about the power user?
To add your last paragraph - today’s robot may be worse but next year’s robot might not be. And with how far Boston Dynamics (and others) have come in such a short time, it’s not hard to imagine that future getting here soon.
Corporations have shown time and time again they fire people by the thousands as soon as it’s financially viable and since this tech will be implemented quickly across the industry, those ex-employees won’t be able to find work. Governments need to start taking UBI seriously if they don’t want to massive civil unrest.
As much as I cringe at the “come and take it” crowd, a lot of them work these at-risk jobs. They will take their anger at their ex-employee and aim it at the government.
Hey to each their own! Apple’s hardware design in that era always makes me think of crappy protective cases. I really didn’t like how the opaque parts were behind thick clear shells. Or like…have you ever seen wooden furniture in a public place that has like 5mm of protective clear coat on it to the point that it looks plastic?
Sorry for the essay, I had not thought about what I specifically disliked until now lol
I found that design hideous at the time and I guess things haven’t changed in that regard
thinking having access to the auction house without having to travel 2 minutes is pay to win in any way and that it constitutes half the functionality of an entire city
Doesn’t realize you don’t have to spend a cent to buy the mount
I’m just gonna copy and paste my comment from the other big thread about this but I want to ask: why are you lying with the post title? It’s $90, not $132.
TLDR: this is obtainable through in-game currency for significantly less than the price of the original brutosaur mount. Most long time players can afford it and I’d imagine most people who bought it did so this way.
Ok so I cackled when I saw the price on this thing but the more I thought about it, the less shitty it is. FWIW I am not a WoW lifer or Blizzard apologist. I got talked into Classic for a year then played a month or two of each expansion since before quitting but I know the background of the story. It looks way worse from an outsider perspective.
You could buy the original auction house mount for 5 million gold back in the day. It stopped being available regularly and now it’s available occasionally in the “black market auction house” and it always sells for the maximum bid.
To combat Chinese gold farmers, Blizzard started selling gold in a bit of a roundabout way. For $20, you can buy a WoW token to sell on the auction house. This token can be purchased by a player and traded for 1 month of game time. Some players dont pay a dime to play - gold is not hard to acquire.
When this new mount came out, WoW tokens were worth about 200k gold. You’d need to exchange them for 5 tokens to get this mount. 1/5 of the original price.
Now tokens are worth 330k. 1.65m gold. STILL significantly cheaper than it was originally.
Tokens will need to rise to triple in price to match the original cost which will still be a tiny fraction of what it cost a month ago.
By far the shittiest thing about this - and I think the only real reason to complain - is that the rising value of the token hurts players who pay for the subscription purely with gold as it adds a few hours to their “working” time in game. For context, watching TV and semi-afk farming will get you like 50k/hour. You can earn way, way more if you’ve leveled up a profession.
The other (not so bad) thing I don’t like about it is that…I hate those mounts. They’re HUGE and people just AFK on them blocking NPCs I want to talk to.
As if they would lose access to anything if it became illegal.
Rules for thee, not for me.
Hi Aaron, how quickly did you get sick of people deliberately mispronouncing your name?
Also, I think your name is very fun to write in cursive.
I love love love the DIY electronics scene but for a device that’s meant to be held…I dunno. Ergonomics are usually an afterthought if considered at all. I can’t imagine a DIY e-reader being comfortable to use
Note: NOT shilling for Amazon here, I will never buy another Kindle
Maybe… I’ve heard some absolutely awful soundbars. They trade sound quality for volume
Somewhat related: I think the Sony and Samsung ones are an upgrade but that’s a low bar and they sound like shit for the price.
I haven’t heard on all, but the Sonos Arc/Beam/Playbar are the only (all-in-one) soundbars I’ve heard that I would say sound great.
I’m not saying it’s incorrect but a least two of these logos are wrong and reduces my trust in the reporting
“your wife is ugly and you’re a piece of shit”
“It’s an honor that you’re thinking of me at all, Papa Trump <3”
