  • For me it’s categorizing radical ideologies correctly. I just hate people throwing around buzzwords, calling anyone a communist/fascist they disagree with. Those words have meanings. You can actually be worse then the fascists and still not be one, it’s not impossible. You can still be hated for that, but you didn’t automatically become one, because you are right-wing and coincidentally an asshole. But the moment someome calls you a fascist, while you’re just an asshole, their opinon automatically becomes invalid and wrong.

Look, centrism is a real thing. There are people who really do like to analyze each and every problem from a more or less unbiased viewpoint and form strong opinions without the influence of ideology, while being ready for a compromise. Anyone who was serious about being a centrist I ever talked to defined their ideology this way.

With that being said there also are right-wingers who like to masquerade as centrist or sometimes moderate left just so they can use their supposed position to more effectively plant their ideas and try and normalize them.

But the thing I’m sick and tired of is when people try and pretend that this is true for every centrist, while ignoring the real problem that there are radical elements that try to masquerade as moderate ones and in doing so are polarizing and actively destroying our society.

  • More like every third person, turn out rates and all. But even that number is achived by what is basically propaganda flowing from all state owned TV and radio stations, newspapers and constant billboard campaings. They don’t even say they are the best, they just say it’s them or the PM from before them, who is now basically seen as devil incarnate (probably because of the same propaganda), even though I lived most of my life under Orban.

I’m from Europe (Hungary) and I watched the first 20 minutes of the debate (with the intent of finishing the whole thing in one go) before turning it off while basically being on the brink of crying. The US presidents basically have as much say in my life as my own government (if not more) and even though I can’t vote for them, if I had to I’d be lost. Because it’s not that one is old and the other is crazy it’s a freaking Venn diagram of crazy RFK jr., demented Biden and then of course crazy and demented Trump. Seeing the debate and how these people basically can’t put two sentences after each other without breaking up is terrifying. And one of them will be voted into the most important office on the planet.

I mean it’s shit over here. We can choose between a guy who already stole half of our country, someone whose messy divorce somehow made him the most important member of the opposition and this other guy who stole the other half of the country before the current dude did. (And that’s just the tip of the iceberg). But maaan are we a lot better off than the world’s greatest country where two unsupervised parties get to point at the people you can vote into this ridiculously powerful position. And then they pick these guys.

We’re all going to die and I can’t even vote for whoever gets us killed, which is ultimately for the better. This way I can die with a clear conscience.

This is generally true, HOWEVER I still think the closed holders where the roll is supported from below (instead of a rod going through the middle) should be used “incorrectly” since it stops the roll from gaining momentum and unrolling when you aren’t careful enough.

Those don’t seem to be very common though, probably an Eastern Bloc thing. Anyway, I’m talking about one of these bad boys:
