There is in fact an expectation for the military to not bomb indiscriminately, except when in the case of Gaza they choose to bomb indisciminately.
The Hutu’s used the term “cockroaches” to dehumanize. The Nazi’s used “rats”. But at least those are living creatures. But “a shield”, calling a human being a shield, as if they’re an inanimate object meant to be struck, as if they’re a nuisance that you’re meant to get through to hit your target? Calling these civilians “human shields” is a new low for dehumanizing language, and Israel defenders don’t realize what kind of monster everyone else sees them as. So wild that it’s considered acceptable language by mainstream culture, fucking terrifying.

I think it’s important to contextualize what a civil war in America nowadays would look like. It will be military vs police, national guard vs army, civilians vs government, etc. etc. Most Americans don’t even have a shared history anymore, let alone present.
…That there are people who make the decisions to let millions starve, yet we as a society happily throw people in jail or the chair for much less. If some wild gunman were shooting up the neighborhood, the way to stop them is simple. But if some wild suit lets millions starve artificially, “grr I’m so angwy!”

We’ve been in these situations before, albeit in smaller scale, the formula still works the same. And it never ends up well for the “ruling class”. It’ll probably take a lot of fuckery before the world unites in the class struggle, but when that happens we’ll know what to do. Just look at what human nature does in natural disasters - we collaborate, cooperate, and rebuild. We will do the same in the future.

I mean I can agree with the idea that if Americans did a Gaddafi on Republicans and Democrats then things would be different, hell, things would change tomorrow if Americans really wanted it, these people have names and addresses. Where I disagree is that calls for violence is bad but only because we’re supposed to say violence is the wrong approach. Maybe elections played by their rules will work in our favor someday (lol).

I respect the effort. I feel like these conversations are many drops but are creating a collective tidal wave, I just find the concept of defending mass murder over learning something new is such an alien concept to me like I can’t have conversations with people who are so bad faith, like, to a point where its homicidal.
