  • fwiw, system76 support is actually pretty responsive, if you want to try them. they even have their own mattermost server for quicker responses.

  • search for !إسلام@lemmy.world

  • i'm facing the same dilemma. i just recently left spotify. tidal and qobuz don't have nearly enough of my favorite music, so i went with deezer. i really don't want to give apple any more money, but i'm wondering which would be better...

  • thanks! TIL

  • immutable distros (e.g. fedora atomic desktops) are secure in the sense that they're containerized. if that's something you're after, i don't see why it wouldn't be a good fit for you.

they do rely on flatpaks, so you'll need to make sure davinci resolve comes as one. it doesn't seem to be on flathub, but i do see someone else has packaged it. if that runs well, i think you'd have nothing to worry about.

  • is it allowed to run in the background unrestricted? that happens to me on some other apps when it's restricted or “optimized”.

  • those prepackaged nvidia drivers were a lifesaver for me personally. i kept hitting walls trying to get them on fedora.

  • i also have the same grievances with surf.

but none seem to have any of the rest of the features, unfortunately.

  • CPU is the speculation

  • that's really interesting, i've had the opposite experience

  • is there no compact layout?
