Although a few of these are good bandaids, such as the $15 min wage (although it needed to be more for a real impact given the state of Biden's economy,) nothing here that really helped the major issues which is why the working class either sat the election out or voted for the orange man. Grocery/gas/utility bills were at an all time high under Biden, his economy sucked, and he did nothing to prevent it. Open borders under Biden, who left them open, whether you agree or not, was one of the biggest campaign voting issues for the workers, and Trump. Healthcare costs are bankrupting workers, Biden did nothing. He lowered only a few drugs for the boomers, but again, nothing to impact the working class. Do you see the bigger picture, no real working class issues addressed, same for cackling Harris (Hillary's girl, I mean half her campaign staff was from Hillary's campaign.)

The fact that Democrats will sell out EVERY SINGLE THING they claim to care about - whether it's political corruption, or a woman's right to bodily autonomy, or arming and funding genocide - is the reason people no longer trust or respect the Democratic Party.

Getting out of the democratic party is a viable alternative. How have they helped any working class member in the last decade? Things have only gotten worse, and that is not because of the orange turd in the white house. NAFTA...which is a large part of the problem today, was Clinton's baby. Obama, bailing out the banks who cause a housing crash, instead of the working people who lost their homes. Yeah, there is nothing to see here, orange man bad.
I think one only has to look at what is happening in areas of Arizona which has many homes sitting on the same street for sale, dropping their prices, staying on the market for over 100 days. Their average is down 13%+ sales, particularly in many of the suburban areas. On the rent side, landlords are offering 1 month free rent, lots of incentives.
In CA, add the cost factor of trying to find reasonably priced insurance. My barber says his friend is on his 6th home insurance company after being dropped...for no reason (CA fires.)
A lot of the problem across the country was the buying in 2022 after COVID when building stopped, bought too high. Now they are losing value and can't get rid of them at the price they want.
But they are not stopping Trump. Do you hear them call for any healthcare options, let alone M4All, any free college options, student loan debt issue, stopping any wars (most are for it,) lowering prices in consumer goods/gas/grocery, taxing the rich? All of these would render Trump useless because it would bring back the working class. Nope....they are a uni-party at this point, always have been. It is pointless.
Yes, he usually runs as a democrat and then once he wins, switches to independent, which makes sense to, I guess, abide by DNC rules and such. Won in 2024 senate race running as a dem. Currently, he is listed on Ballot Pedia as an independent, so once again, he switched it.
Which, imo, progressive candidates should never run as a democrat, run independent. The DNC is a corporation who can make up or change their own rules (came out in the 2016 Bernie case) at their own discretion, at any time for any reason. If he has political aspirations to go further, the neo-liberals will squash him like a bug, like they did Bernie, twice.
I think this fixes itself if you first concentrate on winning back the working class. You can't win without them, so winning over young men is mute. The democrats lost them in the last election because, well, they did nothing for them, didn't even address their concerns, used platitudes "we are for democracy, and good things" instead of actual policies that would help them. A lot of complacency with young men, not voting, goes hand in hand with the policies that effect the working people; well paid salary, affordable healthcare, able to buy home, able to pay rent, buy cheaper food, etc. Until they see a clear plan, the effort is fruitless.
And I understand your point, but you are generalizing also. I think it would be better to say SOME American's are like what you describe, and I would say, because it is usually a class thing within American society. Lower, middle, even some upper classes don't get to travel, or don't want to (or go on horrible isolated cruise ships,) outside the US and aren't exposed to the world they grew up in. Also, our education system, thanks to the rich again, has been destroyed. But, that doesn't apply to everyone, and when you generalize, it is offensive to many. There is an American pride that is built in to our upbringing, as in most places, but what might be unique here is the rich/corporate/gov't exploit that patriotism and use it as propaganda so it is easier to manufacture the selling of war.
Actually, most yanks don't feel this way. Big business, CIA/FBI, Gov't wants resources, weapon sales, drug and human trafficking, all things to keep the rich ....rich. They use the two party system, which is really a uni-party system controlled by them, to keep the masses fighting amongst themselves while they proceed with war and taking away human rights under war-times.
