  • I fully moved to piefed.zip from lemmy.zip. It’s great! Prior to .zip, I was on lemm.ee. I specifically chose .zip when .ee closed down because they have similar policies.

  • Welp, I was planning to buy a Nexar dual-cam (front and cabin-facing). I didn't know their cameras could transmit data and aren't local only. Time to look for another option.

  • Alien: Earth episode 5 is the best Alien movie in 39 years

  • I did enjoy this episode more than the previous ones. My only gripe is why does the crew seem so “unprofessional”. They’re scientists and engineers yet can’t follow simple protocols. Hell, even the lady in the lab was so careless with handling foreign biological specimens. Maybe it’s because this is basically the level of people you get for a job that requires sacrificing 65 years of your life in space?

  • I once went to a ramen restaurant that had broth so umami that the back of my neck hurt afterwards and I was drowsy. Sodium overload basically. It was so good though. Never experienced that again on the countless other ramen restaurants I’ve been to.

  • I finally watched It Follows (2014), and now I truly get why people call it one of the best horror films of the last decade.

  • I don’t usually have nightmares right after watching a horror movie but this one spent a couple of nights in my dreams. And it’s not even the demon/monster in the movie. It’s the dread of something relentlessly chasing you and it’s always there no matter what you do. Then combine that with the mechanics of not being able to run fast in dreams, and viola, nightmare.

  • working a drive thru is actually quite complex and difficult

    Especially in the US where you can customize and substitute almost everything in your order. If it was a simple fixed menu where you can’t really do anything else but pick whatever is listed, maybe AI can somewhat work.
