Slight correction on the slight correction, It’s just semantics on when you start counting.
“Homo-Sapiens” specifically only appeared around 200k years ago, though their “Homo” ancestors were around for around 2Million or so.
I personally start counting at the “Hominin”, around 7 million years ago, because while it broke off into chimps as well, “homos” still came from there (this is as far back as we know about afaik).
Edit: and yes, if I could I would trace it back to the first single celled organism in our link, though we don’t currently know enough about this for me to feel comfortable doing so, this would give us around 3-4 billion years of evolution leading to our desks.
