I don’t about 5.11 bags, but they’re clothing is pretty much destruction proof.

I have a swiss gear backpack that I bought in 2003 or 2004 and it still looks brand new (minus a little dirt). I used it everyday in college all the waythough my grad program and then daily with my first job for 5 years. Still use it to travel, but it’s a bit bigger than I need all the time so I only use it when I need more storage
