Left Reddit because of boost. Came to Lemmy for promises of boost. Now have Boost for Lemmy.
It is complete.
Also, it’s everything I’d hoped for! I’ve been using a different Lemmy app every few weeks since leaving Reddit. Some weren’t even functional. The remaining functional ones just weren’t what I needed, comments didn’t appear right, the keyboard constantly switched to the previous sentence and deleted words, etc it’s just been one problem after another trying to use this platform.
Have been on Boost for Lemmy all of 5 minutes and it’s like a blessing sent from heaven. Everything works as I need it to.
See how I went down from the last paragraph? On my last app (the best I’d found so far) that would mean about a minute of struggling to make it stop reverting to the last paragraph and deleting things. That isn’t happening anymore and it feels great.
I have my options to italicize and embolden text back, right where I’m used to them.
It’s just amazing, thanks Ruben I have been awaiting this release for a while.
Seconded!
Thirded!!
I mostly settled on Connect before Boost came out. I got it set up pretty good where I was comfortable. But as soon as I launched Boost, it was like I was back home.
ios link?
As far as I know, there are no plans for an iOS version currently.
oh ok. Wondering what you all were talking about. Back to my Avelon.
Memmy for Lemmy is as close to Apollo for Reddit that I’ve found.
Tried that but like Avelon better.
Can you block entire instances yet?
Do I have to make a specific Lemmy account to get back on Boost, or can I use my Kbin one?
I couldn’t log in to Boost using my kbin account. So I created an account on startrek.website with the same username and I’m running with that just fine on Boost. It doesn’t really have much impact on the day to day activity of me basically just browsing All and bs-ing with people.
I suspect Boost doesn’t support (and might not be able to support) kbin because of the unique kbin features like non-anonymous voting and the “boost” for visibility/favoriting thing on kbin.
I’m now seeing a larger volume of both up and down votes, which just don’t translate to kbin for some reason? (Like on kbin I would see comments about how hard downvoted a comment was, and I’m only seeing like two downvotes. On boost now I’m seeing all of that invisible stuff.)
Overall, just the ability to permanently hide posts that I’ve marked as read and having a save post function that isn’t the kbin “boost” feature is going to keep me using this startrek.website account so I can use the Boost app.
The only thing I miss is my more concentrated interactions with some of the people who show up frequently on kbin. Those usernames I’ve come to recognize
I’m going to have 4 seperate fediverse accounts now, haha. Thank you for replying so informativly though, you’ve been very helpful!
If it interests you, I just found a guide to revance Boost so that it works with Reddit.
Interested!
I was able to do it in minutes with this guide.

Thanks!
Such awesome news!
Thanks and congratulations!
You could just remember the markdown and not rely on a tool to insert it for you.
How far down exactly? Why were paragraph breaks difficult?
