Does anyone know if Lemmy automatically strips exif data from images posted?
And if so, does that change if you’re using an app (e.g. Jerboa, Connect)?
That probably would depend on the instance you upload to. Best practice would be to strip yourself first.

This depends on the pict-rs backend that handles the request. According to the developer it does:
I wouldn’t trust it to work all the time even if it did (not a thing against Lemmy, I wouldn’t trust any site to work 100% of the time) so I would just strip it myself before uploading.
Yes, by default anyway. A server admin could change modify it if they were so inclined.
