I honestly think this community will probably take time to grow because there isn’t much best of content here yet. All of us need to focus on bringing content to the fediverse in general in order to improve that. In the meantime, it might work well to focus on the best, most well thought out or educational comments that we come across, as opposed to entire threads.
I know what I don’t want to see is reddit content being recycled here.
I agree that a focus on great individual comments seems better than a focus on great threads. I thought the 'best of ’ subreddit had a good approach. I really enjoyed reading well thought out comments that really got the to core of the topic at hand.
And in general I assume this community will simply grow organically as size scales up over time and people see nice examples of posts in this magazine.
I know this, but part of me feels like this community will stop growing and stagnate if I’m not actively trying to prop it up. You’re right though, I need to calm down and just let the waves come and go.
That’s a great point, but I think kbin might be lacking functionality at the moment. We need to be able to provide context when providing a link to a comment.
I can assure you the limited Reddit content we have is temporary. I’m being a bit relax on this rule because of the limited content we’re working with.
