What’s heartbreaking about this is that they were supposed to be God’s chosen people.

If genocide and ethnic cleansing is what God wants, I’m really glad we killed him.

Isn’t that a major part of the Old Testament in the Bible? If I recall correctly, the Israelites fled slavery in Egypt and God commanded them to eradicate the inhabitants of Canaan, The Promised Land. There are whole books dedicated to successful military generals like Joshua. I’m not familiar with Jewish texts, though, just what I remember learning in Baptist churches as a kid.

I vaguely recall watching a documentary once where it was theorized that the various names for God in the bible actually referred to different gods originally which would explain some of the inconsistent behaviours and lessons, if one was a war god and one was more merciful.

For a second I thought an Israeli lawmaker thought objectively and proposed migration out of Palestine, but a man can dream.

Its not Israel’s opinion. It was a caucus meeting of the most extreme far right border line terroristic party. They can say this 24/7. Aint gonna happen. They are just talking to themselves and their base. Which is quite minor.

Thats exactly like saying “us lawmakers blame jews space laser on X” Yea one lawmaker who is the most extreme and lunatic one. No sane person thinks that this is the US position or even the lawmakers position.

Also the article is from a newspaper that is posting this as mockery or as a blame on that specific party.

Its true that sadly this is the most right wing and extremist it has ever been. But there are members and parties currently in the coalition that are not literal terrorists. Again, they are not even majority in their own coalition. And that guy Tzvi Sukot is the like the craziest of his party. We all know he’s opinion towards Arabs in general, he would rather see all arabs dead. He is an extreme bat shit terrorist. But he is one, and his party is small. Some major networks predict his part would be wiped in the next election.

      Aint gonna happen.

It’s true that non-radicalized Israeli lawmakers might not acknowledge it, but anybody paying attention can see that it is, in fact, happening. Hell, Israeli “settlers” have been slowly driving Palestinians off their land in the West Bank too (with the Isreali government backing them up instead of upholding Palestinian landowners’ rights), let alone what’s happening in Gaza. It’s very clear what Israel’s policy is, whether they want to officially admit it or not.

No doubt, the “settlement factory” is live and kicking. But its not that of a clear cut as to be a policy of the state even if a hidden one.

The current most far extreme government in Israel’s history still dismantled new settlements and forcefully removed settlers.

Certain members of the coalition do indeed push for settlements and directly fund where they can and have the authority . In the last few months ben gvir straight up gave weapons to settlers. Even to ones with criminal record. In one case I think it was used to murder a Palestinian.

With all this said its still not a policy of the state. Or Bibi’s in particular. Bibi has to deal with those few fuckers on his coalition. Theres a reason that when he actually needed it he found a legal way to throw them out of the cabinet de facto and run the current war with the moderate center MPs.

What im saying is that expulsion of palestinians, or moving them with consent or encouraging them to move is definitely not something that happens or will happen. There are too many sane, centrists people who have the right to vote. Lets hope that what Hammas did on oct 7 didnt radicalize those centrists further for the next election.
