A Tesla is more of an indoor car. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/chicago-area-tesla-charging-stations-024817227.html
@MissingThePt@mastodon.social “designed in California” and it shows!
@MissingThePt@mastodon.social You joke, but I know a place where the owner has parked their car on the ground floor of their home, while they live upstairs.
@MissingThePt@mastodon.social “But they work great in the cold!”
I’ve been seeing so many opinion pieces lately about how well they do in cold weather, that this makes them seem like propaganda. ;)
@MissingThePt@mastodon.social
I’m glad I park in an underground parking lot. I don’t have to worry about the temperature being too cold to charge my car. Well, until it gets really, REALLY cold.It’s always 10°C difference in the underground lot. If it’s -5°C outside, it’s +5°C in the underground lot. If it’s +30°C outside, it’s +20°C in the underground lot.
Also, I don’t have a Tesla death machine.
@MissingThePt@mastodon.social @jann@twit.social how has this not been a problem before? Is just that charging station not working?
@MissingThePt@mastodon.social anyone who buys a product made by muskrat is a fool.
@MissingThePt@mastodon.social I dislike the Muskrat as much as anyone, but since this story appears to have come from Faux News, I suspect it’s just anti-EV hype. The cold will affect battery life and charging but, you know, grain of salt.
