Certain strains of accelerationist anarchism, particularly those you find online, are just celebrating the oppression and death of minorities with a tacky veneer of “for the greater good” smeared over, change my mind.
If it’s any consolation, arrogance is one of the most enduring traits of America, and we’ve endured this long. I remember reading a book back in college about the foreign affairs of the US in its first 30 or so years of existence, and one of the things that always stuck with me, just a minor part of the book, a minor event, was a Spanish ambassador coming away from a meeting with American diplomats bemused at how highly they thought of themselves and how casually they treated him.
We don’t have to collapse. Not yet. We might always be a little insufferable though.
