I’ll probably play with settings again. At the point I had it yesterday, I had forgotten to make a space so had to waste time moving games around, then had 10MBb/s for an hour until resetting my router to get 40 and start making progress, so I really just wanted to play.
I wanted to verify that it’s playable. The controller support is a little bit of an adjustment but I don’t think it’s bad.
Controller support is actually quite cool. Seems like they built a whole new layout just for controllers (which makes sense because they’re gonna have this on Xbox/PlayStation). It’s a bit off putting after coming from DoS2 but quickly grows on you.
I want to try and see if I can use the track pad as a mouse instead of the thumb stick though. Would make exploring and navigating menus a bit faster…
I need to play with the controls options more, but I’m wondering if this is an either/or thing where you either use the “controller” scheme or you need to completely map everything for k+m. I tried to go with what seemed to be the most popular community controls and the game alerted me that the controller had disconnected; and weirdly the menu size and layout shrunk and looked different. I’d really like to use a trackpad as a mouse to have that option along with the sticks, but if not I’ll adjust to it. I’ve run into other controller issues, like where it says to hold “select” for the journal but it only works to open the map - you can still press one of the triggers to pull up a wheel with the journal, but it seems like there’s still some bugs to work out.
I turned it to proton experimental and set everything to low and it’s OK at 40 so far. You get lots of effects early so it might stay stable-ish.
I have mine set to medium with FSR at Ulta and I think it’s pretty good. Need to play more to test other options though

This is my current set up ad well and it’s rock solid.
