Edit: Title updated. It has officially passed both the state assembly and the senate. It’s officially going to be on the California ballot in November.

  This is important because it helps preserve the house of representative political party ratio so the GOO doesn’t gerrymander themselves to a supermajority in the midterms.

  On top of that, the new red districts in Texas who aren't exactly happy about this change are not exactly a lock. California district changes very likely are. There's a slim but possible upset against maga in this whole maneuver.

  Like radiation therapy to treat cancer. Exposing yourself to intense X-ray radiation usually isn’t a smart idea, but it’s better than the alternative, and at least it’s targeted and controlled.

  We've come to this place because Democrats kept playing fair against cheaters.
  You have 3 options:
  Play fair, and prosecute / arrest cheaters. (Ideal)
  Cheat yourself against the cheaters. (Less ideal)

  The fourth option is to play Hard Ball, and force them to play by the rules, and not allow them to just make up arbitrary rules to obey or not obey, depending on what's convenient for them.
