  • Which of your rights are you voting away with candidates that don’t “toe the line” with your right to exist as a human being?

Why are you so comfortable demanding other people give up their rights while doing none of that yourself?

Why is it more reasonable to you to demand trans people vote against their own rights than to do even the tiniest amount of work pressuring Newsom to stop the fucking transphobia?

  • Which of your rights have you given up for any of those?

How the fuck is keeping trans people out of sports going to fix any of that? Do you think 4 years after 2028 MAGA and climate change will be gone? Will it bring back any dead kids? After we’ve accepted that trans people can’t be allowed in sports, what rights will we have to sacrifice in the next election? And the next? When is the point where you decide that actually there’s a line Democratic candidates can’t cross when it comes to trans rights, even in a primary?

Because it feels a whole lot like there is no bridge too far and people are real fuckin mad about trans people pointing that out.

  • You should be sure to tell Newsom’s office he’s alienating voters with his transphobia, because for some people it’s a deal breaker. Telling people to shut up about it isn’t going to work and is also fucked.

  • They can’t actually stop you from registering with the other party. It’s not a crime to vote in their primaries and then vote for the other party in the general.

  • You would think this incredibly basic understanding of the political leanings of the average trans person would get us a little solidarity from Democratic leadership, but we can all go fuck ourselves the second a blue dog dem starts crying about being scared of pronouns apparently.

  • Thank you!

  • Yeah, those posts were in response to people being completely shitty about it.

Do you need me to link to some previous discussions where there are accusations of someone being an accelerationist who prefers Trump because they criticized Newsom? Because that was just yesterday. That’s not even touching the people who flat out say ‘I am absolutely willing to sacrifice trans rights because everyone else is more important’.

  • I’m fairly ignorant about Linux and what goes on under the hood, so the majority of the text doesn’t mean anything to me.

As someone planning to install Linux Mint who also doesn’t want to accidentally dox myself with a screenshot, could I get an explanation from someone on what is censored out and why?

  • ‘High caffeine consumption’

My caffeine consumption: less than 70 mg/day, equivalent to one very weak cup of coffee.

  • Coffee drinkers about to start paying $10/cup for anything made outside the home.

  • Are you intentionally trying to miss the point that this is entirely fixable if Newsom walks back the transphobia? Because all I’m hearing is that there’s a certain amount of transphobia that trans people are obligated to silently accept, and that’s horse shit.

The fact you think it’s ‘just sports’ shows you have zero clue what that represents. Asking trans people to just accept the erosion of their participation in public life for the good of a society that hates us is fucked. Which of your rights have you put on the chopping block for everyone else?

  • I haven’t seen a single person say that there’s nothing he can ever do to make up for it. People are calling for him to stop the transphobia and persecution of the homeless.

  • Is there a law that requires redistricting measures have a popular vote?

I also don’t give partial credit for stopping fascist takeovers of state militias.

  • Why are you explaining this to me like I’m not a trans person who has lived in California over a decade?

California LGBTQ leaders and organizations with decades of experience in advocating for LGBTQ people immediately condemned his statements. It doesn’t matter what legislation he’s signed in the past, throw the trans community under the bus and that goes out the window.

If any criticism of him is bad, the only way to make it stop is to get him to stop being a transphobe for political gain. Period. If everyone has shut up about it then it’s because I’m dead.

Also, don’t you think it’s a little rude to respond to a comment with a ChatGPT infodump without even disclosing it?

  • So terrible to “tear down” (criticize) a politician siding with the far right on trans people. His feelings are much more important than trans kids being safe and healthy, obviously.

If Bernie has told anyone to shut up about Newsom’s transphobia he can also fuck off.

By the way, all this “tearing down” has a super easy fix. All he has to do is stop being a fucking transphobe. If it’s so important that everyone supports him, you should call his office and tell him to walk that shit back. Because it’s going to lose him voters if he tries a presidential run.

  • Irrelevant to the end results: he didn’t prevent the California National Guard from being deployed against US civilians, and he hasn’t actually done anything to ensure that redrawing districts will happen.

Giving him credit for shit he hasn’t accomplished is ridiculous.

  • Try rereading the statement. It was about trans people as a whole, not the shooter.

  • He's also redistricting California

He got it on the ballot. He has no control over what voters do. It’s likely to pass, but if it doesn’t he gets to go “aw shucks, I tried!”

and refusing to cooperate with Trump like other states have, such as volunteering national guard

I mean, Trump deployed the California National Guard anyway. Not volunteering them didn’t actually accomplish anything.

I’m sorry to hammer on this but it’s important to not give him credit for things he didn’t actually do. The media disinformation/lack of proper explanation in articles about what exactly is going on with California redistricting makes it seem to many like Newsom is a magic man who’s making a bunch of new Democratic districts tomorrow, but it’s not even on the ballot until November and it’s not a guaranteed thing.
