  • Because establishment Dems are working toward the same goal as Republicans with the added benefit of making things appear legitimate by offering controlled opposition. Democratic mayor Adams time is up and now he's going to work directly for the Trump administration so they want to replace him with someone similar.

  • 15 years ago was 2010 when the Tea Party was "the thing to be" and Democrats lost a bunch of seats so you're just blatantly lying here. If you're referring to the prior two years where the Dems had a super majority, their landmark accomplishment was further cementing the private medical insurance model into law based directly off Republican Mitt Romney's healthcare plan.

  • This person is in Japan and has previously stated they would never come to the US to aid in this insurrection they call for because they might get temporarily detained at the airport.

  • Even if they discontinue Bluray, 4k content isn't going anywhere or 4k TVs do too.

  • I download movies in 1080p but TV shows are almost always 720p unless its something visually stunning which could go up to 4k.

  • The problem is Venmo amd PayPal will report them forcing you to explain what it was for.

  • That show was dead man walking by the end of S02E01. Even if they'd turned it into a masterpiece in the end, the damage was done and viewership gone. Not too different than what happened to Game of Thrones just earlier in its run.

  • Amazon did them dirty. In the last seasons it was very clear that the production budget had been drastically slashed with one episode consisting entirely of a a cheap set barely resembling the interior of a ship.

  • Same with Christianity. Commit vile acts on Saturday but then Sunday morning you ask for forgiveness and you're again "saved."

  • This is called "price anchoring" when used in business. They throw out an outrageously high number to start and then follow it up with something less to make it seem like a good deal when that was really the price they wanted all along.

  • That is certainly not who I pictured in my mind after reading the title.

  • I haven't delved too deeply into the criticism so far all I know it could be baseless "internet complaints" like The Last of Us where people were upset that the girl playing the teenage character "wasn't attractive enough."

  • Hiring is a different analogy that still doesnt really fit the situation well. If I work at Acme Corp and get quotes for materials from a company in Israel and one in Brazil and decide to go with Brazil because I dont agree with supporting genocide, how can the government compel me to instead purchase supplies from Israel? Beyond the whole ideological aspect of "free markets" and whether Republicans are major hypocrites or not, what legal mechanism is there for the government to require you to purchase generic items from a specific company solely based on the nation that company is located in regardless of price, quality, volume, etc? There's zero chance there's legitimate legal footing for this.

  • What does that have to do with the argument? They're pointing out that the government can restrict where you spend your money but the opposite is not true.

  • That's obviously hyperbole for "I want them to face some consequences for their actions after alarming me in my home in the middle of the night for their own enjoyment."

  • Yeah i wouldn't call it a rip-off either but I do think they're along the same vein and isn't far off from what we see now with stuff like superhero movies. I was merely responding to whether any of the movies on the list were more than your bargain-bin direct-to-VHS crapfest even though I dont believe they're copying Indiana Jones.

  • Have you seen the movie? I think they're very similar action adventure films with some comedy sprinkled in. Just look at the movie posters as one example:

  • Romancing the Stone was actually pretty decent. Goonies is also on the list which is a classic of course.

  • Playing Bloodborne and getting unexpectedly sucked into Hypogean Gaol really cemented that spelling into my brain.
