I think the biggest channels I watch have under 4 million subscribers, and most of my channels have less than a million. I've never watched the big channels, so I don't really care.
A while back, YT asked me about turning on my watch history, but I didn't know it was off. I don't know what that was about--I think they changed something--but my knee-jerk reaction is to NOT do what they want me to do, so I left it off. Now I just watch whatever is new from my subscriptions, and don't have any suggestions cluttering my front page, which is a much better way to use YT, imo. So, thanks, YT.
... because it costs them money, to be clear. They can't get their customers to tip enough to allow them to underpay their employees, that's the complaint. This is not McD calling for fair wages on behalf of others.
Laws are worse than useless without enforcement. Stock traders break laws every single day, it's part of doing business, as are the tiny fines a few of them are charged when they are called out for breaking laws.
This is complete bullshit. They'll continue to trade, just illegally, now, knowing nothing will happen even in the rare situation where the FTC actually does anything.
Damn. So desperate to be a victim, he made victims of his own grandkids. Piece of trash. The ironic part is he was caught by the surveillance state he no doubt supported till now.
According to Raleigh, North Carolina NBC affiliate WRAL News, on August 8, Yokeley approached a Wilmington police officer and claimed his two juvenile granddaughters had discovered two suspicious pills in ice cream they’d purchased from Dairy Queen on Oleander Drive.
However, surveillance video later revealed that Yokeley himself was seen placing the pills into both of the girls’ treats. The pills reportedly tested positive for MDMA and cocaine, as noted in an arrest warrant. The authorities said they have evidence he slipped drugs into the girls' ice cream.
I'd say don't block anything at the top and let users filter their own feed as they see fit, except blocking communities is not very effective, in my experience.
More robust filtering and sorting for the user would be welcome. For instance, Reddit Enhancement Suite lets me hover over a name that has an "ignore" button for users, and a "filter" button for subs. That's very user-friendly and effective there. The same here would be a good addition.
I understand that the structure of Fediverse makes this more challenging.
