One of the reasons I can't really stand to be on this instance unless I see something important enough to hit the front page. I'll take a remotely functional windows dist with customized features over pretty much any linux OS anyday in order to not struggle to complete the most basic, essential tasks.

For real. The shell shock of working all your life to move to these once idyllic looking countries has been about as quickly and bizarrely dismantled near overnight in the same vein as the 2008 market crash impacting an entire generation's outlook on their career prospects.

It's crazy to me whenever I read accounts of stories like these from people who you'd think would be the least impacted demographically speaking, only to find it's endless hoop jumping all the way to the top. You could be a caucasian cis heterosexual man with generational wealth tying your ancestry to the state, who always votes republican and never speaks ill of capitalism, and yet at the first sign of doubting the regime's doublespeak you'll still be cast to the wolves as if you were yet another trans immigrant protesting human rights violations in Gaza.
