    What’s more, my state constitution explicitly grants gun ownership for self defense while simultaneously and explicitly banning membership in any private militia.

  • The military give less of a shit about people’s mental health than the rest of the government and less even than either major political party.

    It’s complicated because it can ruin your career if you seek mental health assistance while serving. You can lose your security clearance and then be relegated to something other than your actual job. This basically kills any shot at promotion.

    I lost a buddy to suicide by gun when I was in. I had lost contact with him and didn’t know he was suffering. It wasn’t a combat trauma thing either. IDK what it was. And nobody but me and the guy’s wife gives a shit, nobody wants for him to have wanted to live instead of die, they just want to ban guns about it.

    Suicide accounts for most gun deaths in the US every year. As in more than 50% of all gun deaths. I wish we’d invest in good mental healthcare.

  • I use a wireguard tunnel and run my system through my dual PiHoles at home... on my iPhone. I don't get tons of ads. But I'm stubborn like that. If they manage to show me ads after all, I'll simply stop using the whatever unless I have no choice. I'm not married to any of this shit and hate ads more than I like apps etc.

    I legally own and possess one or more firearms that I cannot sell or buy more of in Washington State due to changes in the law in the past five years. They “grandfather” you when they write these laws because they know it causes less uproar when they blatantly violate the Constitution. Which means all those guns are still around.

    I vote Democrat because I’m not a Nazi but sometimes they make it hard, like when over half of ALL gun deaths in the US are from suicide (sOuRCe: gunviolencearchive.org) and all they can come up with is ban, ban, ban, and they just don’t give a shit that all those people wanted to die and maybe we should be trying to help people want to be alive.

    Meanwhile, suicide by gun doesn’t require an assault rifle or a standard capacity magazine to accomplish. They don’t care about that, either, even though it literally accounts for most gun deaths.
