  • Downtime across all those platforms started at pretty much exactly 10:00AM EST, which was Silksong's release time. Not a coincidence.

  • Just so everyone's clear on this, this is not a "receiving the consequences of my own actions" moment. Mitch is LYING.

McConnel has ALWAYS played lightning rod for the GOP, putting his face on the evil shit they do, so people hate on him, instead of the entire party. He knows his role. Don't believe for a moment that he is anything other than ecstatic at the political state of the country.

The fact that he hasn't retired to enjoy the wealth and status he's made for himself just proves it: he LIKES everything that's happening. Dude's gonna die happily in office.

  • The highly-anticipated sequel to 2017's indie hit video game Hollow Knight. 2-time winner of "Most Anticipated Game" at the Unity Awards, and 3-time winner of "Most Wanted Game" at the Golden Joystick Awards. The most-wish-listed game on Steam, up until its release today.

  • 2.5 hours and counting. 🥲

  • Yeah, the writing has been on the wall for a while. He won't be leaving office until he's dead.

  • Sounds like maybe this is the "ranked mode" that rumors were going around about? Thank god, if so, the last thing this game needs is more incentive for players to be competitive against each other.

Neat concept, it sounds like. They really are just using this game as an excuse to try every new idea they have, aren't they?

  • hit by a bullet

    Shot. The word is "shot".

  • I tried it a few weeks ago. Streamed it from my PC to the living room, cause I didn't feel like getting off the couch.

It was better than I thought it'd be, but I'm not keen on doing it again, when I have KBM available. Tough to to say how much of the discomfort is just fighting my KBM muscle memory, and how much is "game fundamentally too complicated for controller". I only had one REAL complaint about the way a particular button/input was mapped.

  • They were originally a subreddit that got banned, years ago. They moved to a private server, running some fork of a fediverse platform (I don't remember which but I sorta recall it not being Lemmy) and spent years there developing their own little 4chan-like subclture that's big on using a bunch of custom emotes and lingo and being aggressively sarcastic. Also, yes, entirely supportive and uncritical of China, as a while.

When Lemmy started taking off after the reddit API-calypse, they decided to open up federation across the Lemmy network, to "spread their message to all the new users", and instantly became the loudest voices in almost every community. Quite a few servers defederated from them. Eventually, they toned down the aggression, outside of some of their own communities.

Me, I was never bothered by them enough to want to defederate, even found that a decent portion of their content, and their commenters in general are good faith. Maybe I just have a higher tolerance for being able it ignore their nonsense.

Also, FYI, to this day, downvoting is disabled across their entire instance. If your client lets you downvote a post from hexbear, it'll get saved on your own instance, but it won't federate to them, nor any other servers. Thus, if you see posts with high upvote/downvote ratios, don't make the mistake of thinking that means they're high quality, and if you use sorting algorithms that are based on downvote ranks, hexbear posts can end up not being fairly ranked.

  • Welp, Satisfactory is going on hiatus again.

  • Upvote for the desktop background.

  • The company says that AI companies have scraped data from the Wayback Machine, so it’s going to limit what the Wayback Machine can access.

Yeah, wouldn't want those AI companies to get all that data for free. Gotta make 'em pay for it.

  • They are also angry that about 500 families would have to be expropriated in order for the bridge to be built.

This is the real kicker, at least for me. Unless these folks vote unanimously to take a GENEROUS buyout, the plan should be dead. Fuck eminent domain.

  • Yeah, this seems like a non-issue, to me. When the ISP sees pirated traffic, they have to issue a notice to the customer, and that customer is Hampton Inn. The ISP doesn't know or care that the end user isn't Hampton employees. They're just covering their ass, legally.

Don't pirate without a proper VPN.

  • If they normally do these patrols EVERY morning, as the testimony claims, ot's EXTREMELY suspicious, and the evidence to counter it needs to be equally-extremely convincing.

  • We have been working to correct this and expect it to be resolved soon

Lol, this is a static site. A 5 minute change. Even if they have a process to run all changes through review and testing before deployment (which they don't or else this kind of "coding error" wouldn't have happened), this is fixed same-day. They're lying.

  • TL;DR By being Republican.

  • Hard to knock him for this one, who the hell CAN stay awake listening to Dr. Oz?

  • Oh, certainly not.
