    The unban/ban thing has happened lots of times. It's supposedly because the ban button is right next to the unban button (if any mods are reading this, could you confirm?) and the unban will still show up in the modlogs, even though the person has not yet been banned.

  • If this is who I think it is, that person is a long-running right-wing KiwiFarms troll who operates under the guise of "enlightened centrism". They have accounts all over the internet and have a habit of stealing the usernames from people on DeviantArt. For those who don't know, DeviantArt was the birthplace of this troll. They said some stuff to a minor and got banned from there years ago (and lie that they aren't banned because they exploited what was obviously a glitch), and they continue to stalk members of the site to this day. They're now trying to start a completely made-up conspiracy theory that they're being banned for being autistic by using their sockpuppet accounts to ban themselves from their own communities while inserting bogus reasoning in the modlog in an attempt to discredit the existing modlogs. They obviously didn't know that on some instances you can see which mod banned which person by going to the modlog and typing the name of a mod under "Filter by mod".

    Anyway, they sign up with the copy and pasted usernames of DeviantArt users they don't like on other sites, dozens of times, and only of those who exposed them, likely to try and frame them. They then lie about being "inspired" by the usernames, even though it is copy and paste. They recently created a sockpuppet account which had the same username, copy and pasted, as someone on DeviantArt who called them out. They tried to say that the impostor and the DeviantArt artist were the same person. So I got someone to message the real person, who confirmed it's an impostor account.

    They have a Tumblr blog which they use to lie about people. I quickly created a blog to upload the screenshot so I could comment in the blog and ask them why they're lying. They tried to argue with me about how they aren't banned from 10 instances. I showed them that them posting to Lemm.ee doesn't mean they aren't banned from Beehaw.org. I even included screenshots showing them the address bar, and how their post to Beehaw.org from lemm.ee is nowhere to be found on Beehaw. They then blocked me and deleted my replies to their blog where I linked the screenshot, and I deleted my blog since this person kept deleting my replies on their blog, it had served its purpose, and now they're lying that I must've been banned. This troll never stops lying.

    Since lemm.ee is shutting down soon, it looks like they're trying to create alts everywhere. If you see a suspicious account, try typing it into your browser's address bar, and then inserting ".deviantart.com". If it comes up with an actual DeviantArt profile of an established DeviantArt user, it (the suspicious account not from DeviantArt) is very likely one of their alts. They like to make false equivalences where they find two people who coincidentally share the same username, when that is very obviously not what's happening here.

  • Their main account is https://lemm.ee/u/shinigamiookamiryuu but the display name is "Call Me Lenny/Leni".

    The username, shinigamiookamiryuu, was stolen from another user on DeviantArt who called them out at one point in time. https://www.deviantart.com/shinigamiookamiryuu the real shinigamiookamiryuu in the link changed their username after they realized Call Me Lenny/Leni stole it to use on Lemm.ee. They then try to gaslight people who aren't aware of their history, saying they merely got "inspired" by the username while leaving out the context that the people they stole the usernames from either didn't like them or called them out.

    They commented dozens of times in my thread about them, where they continued to double down on defending Elon Musk's Nazi salutes and arguing that the AfD aren't Nazis. I've already went and contacted the real stsnvawatchingdadie on DeviantArt about this. Signing up on other sites with the usernames of people who exposed them is part of this troll's modus operandi.

  • Some instances pre-emptively ban users if they happen to have a history of malicious behaviour. Can't say I can blame the mods and admins for not wanting to put up with the user's behaviour and the barrage of reports that could follow. Sometimes it's less of a workload to just ban them than wait for their inevitable trolling.

  • This user was banned for being anti-Semitic and telling people to kill themselves. Also, when you're instance-banned, you automatically get banned from the communities you were active in. The mod didn't manually ban them from all those communities. When you attempt to post to a community in an instance you're banned from that you weren't active in, the instance-ban means the post won't federate.

  • YouTube has so many ads now it's ridiculous. Yesterday YouTube threatened me with the popup even though I have UBlock on Firefox. I've seen 10 ads on a 20 minute video. As if the un-skipabble 2 minute long ads that pause when you switch tabs wasn't bad enough, YouTube is now putting ads in their Premium.

    YouTube is in dire need of a big competitor and fast.
