  • This a thousand times. The world is throwing away resources at an astounding rate while people are sick, homeless and starving because of numbers on digital ledgers. We need to drop the whole idea of money. It's served its purpose, run its course and has since turned into a life on this planet threatening perversion.

  • Could the bill be used to base measures on that help combat climate change? Sometimes idiots are actually useful.

  • He stayed quiet and went in hiding, Trump can't for the life of him, do that.

Even if the US government went though a lot of trouble faking his death and relocating him he'd be bragging about it on twitter before the end of the week.

  • Has he created a movement, or has there been a movement that has attracted him? As I see it, it's not just him it's most of the current GOP leadership, Thiel and the Heritage foundation, Citizens United and a few adjacent organizations that need to go before you can go to a somewhat reasonable functioning society in the US. And frankly the way some Democrats react to the New York primary, they also seriously need to clean house.

  • People who saw project 2025 for what it was were not caught by surprise at all. Trump himself barely matters, it people like Peter Thiel and the heritage foundation who write policy. They need the US to fall apart and they don't mind helping Putin a bit along the way.

Trump often reminds me of the Galactic President from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

"Only six people in the Galaxy knew that the job of the Galactic President was not to wield power but to attract attention away from it."

So they choose someone flamboyant and zany and scandalous who will give the press nice headlines and good repeatable quotes.

  • Yeah it's weird, and if there are elections popular opposition candidates will face a fate like mr Navalny, I'm afraid. Much as I would like AOC as a US president, I think at this point, she needs to run for her life rather than for president. And believe me, I truly hate that this is the case.

She is an amazing person and a fantastic leader. However she is the kind of person the fascists fear and she is also the right shade of skin to earn a one way ticket to El Salvador.

You see the people clamoring for the deportation of mr Mamdani, and he is at this point nothing more than one party's possible candidate for mayor of one town. Imagine what would happen if ms Ocasio-Cortez were an actual presidential candidate!?

Even now I worry about her safety often. Same for that wonderful ms Crockett, mr Frost and a few others.

  • The Ferengi would mock him mercilessly, he is a cheap fraud and doesn't have the lobes for business.

  • That mattered back when there were elections that had to have at least a semblance of being fair. They have the power now and don't have an issue using fear instead of love to keep it. Trump only needs to live long enough to solidify that power. I'm sure the US is past that point and the people determining policy would love to see Trump martyred.

  • Russia's most densely populated, and politically most relevant are is on the European continent. Get that into your fucking head.

  • It is but losing the traitor in the assembly is not a bad thing. Now if Europe could jailbreak all that American tech they have in their military gear too, that would be nice.

  • You could say "Israeli's did that" or "Zionists did that" instead of using the word Jews, and it would be more accurate and would not (except in the Zionist narrative) be anti-semite.

  • The guy talks like he feels strongly about issues but remains absolutely vague, which allows people to subconsciously fill in the blanks, so they hear whatever they want to hear.

That thing that I'm afraid of, he is going to solve that once and for all, without fussing about saying things are complicated like the democrats would.

  • It's not easy to take action that really works. Protests only do so much. Armed resistance is problematic and can backfire in so many ways....

  • I read Musk fired the Tesla manager for Europe and North America over the low sales, as if those weren't a direct result of Musk's own actions. Like there is only one person responsible for pushing the stupid cybertruck and for associating the brand with fascism.

  • I'm not American and I wish you guys the very best, but my expectations for the 2026 elections is on par with the elections in Russia. Every non republican candidate may end up in jail or out of a window.

  • Yes but somehow those are way less agressive at taking away your rights and even try to make the world moderately better. It's the difference between the guys hacking holes in the boat and the ones not fixing the holes fast enough. Sure, both are letting the boat sink, but there does seem a serious difference.

  • Happens regularly often the police officers find themselves compelled to kill their passive aggressor in self defense.

  • It's only a way of starting an interaction, it escalates easily with things like "illegal possession", "resisting arrest" and "assaulting a police officer" . Which are all things that might happen without the suspect doing anything really.

  • You are very optimistic. You need the state to optimize sharing of resources because without it you get smaller and smaller tribal groups competing. Mutual aid groups on a voluntary basis alone are easily splintered and there are too many people who get a kick out of destruction.
