Just a dude on the internet, looking for content and fun! I love Linux, gaming, writing, reading, music, anime, walks, and occasionally movies too. Chronically ill and anxious too, that makes life quite interesting...At times.

  • Great, America was already fucked...Without a competent leader in office to handle a disaster of this scale, we'll be worse off. Social Security Numbers were always a bad idea to keep around for the long term, and worse to be used by businesses to validate the identity of a customer/employee. A photo ID should've been solely used to identify one's self. It's going to be a rough generation for everyone. 😬

  • I haven't played in a while, this is piquing my interest again! I love how vast this game is becoming, more major gaming studios need to follow their example when it comes to rehabbing a game that came out initially as the worst version of itself. Still haven't even gotten to the center of the universe, I might try again as the path is really weird.

  • That's what I appreciate about open source software...People are free to make our own alternatives and connect with others using that software and infrastructure! We aren't trapped by any means and can migrate to the growing alternatives. I've latched on to fedia.io and Mbin which is actually a stable version of Kbin (the original creator was going through it and need to take time off). I can connect with Piefed users from here, so there's no reason to make an account there (Fediverse rocks for this reason).

However, my reference to Dessalines was more about tarnishing the creation known as Lemmy with his mad ranting about falsehoods and other tankie nonsense. He's just a flawed person that is still sleeping, desperate to avoid the truth and glaze countries that are the worst to their people and others in the world. Likely knows that if he pushes it further, by limiting the use of Lemmy it will come crashing down. Somewhere in the fever dream that traps him, sense still exists.

  • Oof, it's a shame that this cretin has created Lemmy; I can only hope that other instances block lemmy.ml so they can stay in their own delusional little space without bothering the rest of us.

  • I've gotten pretty far in the game before having to put it down for a bit, it's a great game for certain! I do enjoy the level of detail in terms of how NPCs act and respond around Arthur. Red Dead Redemption 2 is certainly a huge step-up in terms of quality from the original game.

I'm not particularly keen for GTA6 as those games tend to be off-putting for me (mechanically and story wise), I also hate driving in games...Unfortunately, GTA tends to involve a lot of driving.

  • Yes, UK and Aussie Terfs have been trying to disenfranchise transmen and women for a long while, unfortunately J. K. Rowling gave them a nasty opening to make their cruel work stick. I do hope for a revolution against these egregious acts, as American ancestors fought to make the English fuck right off. Ireland will likely fall to a similar fate, as there is a rise of anti-trans rhetoric in that nation too. I don't think many places are going to be safe in the world. Barring communities who give a shit about their fellow humans, of course!

  • This horrific and vile, this is why I wish we could've gotten a different outcome with the election. More horrible news to add onto an ever-growing pile of shit. I wish my mom would've chosen to divorce my dad and took us to Germany...Fleeing this rotting nation would've been a boon!

  • Good, they needed to have sense knocked into their incompetent heads. This was such a big price hike in such an economically uncertain time. Thankfully, consumer outrage was strong enough to convince them to lower it back to a price that I still consider too high. I miss the $60 dollar price tag. 🥲

  • I am speaking from a hopeful place...Given the current political environment, if nobody sustains this energy...It will fizzle out and die, unlike the MeToo movement that kept its momentum for quite a while. There are going to be people that are sacrificed to mollify the masses, while others might skate free. Diddy is going to be sentenced from what I could find in October of this year, but he is also still imprisoned because of him being a flight risk.

I hope that this Epstein File thing could blow up into something that a stinky, deranged man can't silence, no matter how much smoke he blows up the arse of his cultists and society.

  • Interesting, the mystery expands...I can't wait for all the people who are associated with that list to be catching well-earned strays from the fallout.

  • ROFL Pathetic for the Department Lead to not even check if the slop was correctly generated! This person should've been laid off, but, somehow survived the unnecessary layoffs. Just because Microsoft wanted to burn money on AI, risk a lot on something that doesn't actually generate meaningful profit. Tragic, and I hope it hurts them badly.

  • I'm not particularly excited about this upcoming dumpster fire...Already took it off my Wishlist.

  • Anything to fuck over the working class, as they must ensure the profits keep coming!

  • A fool is ever eager to give their money to that which doesn't work as intended. Provided the surrounding image provides a mystique or resonates with their internal vision of what an 'AI' is. It's pure marketing on their part, Anthropic believes that any press is good press. It makes investors drool over a refined AI, even though, Apple themselves have proven it through their many technical papers current AI is merely 'smoke and mirrors' however...For some odd reason, they are still developing their 'Apple Intelligence'. They are huffing farts just as much as Anthropic is, they have to constantly pull stunts to gaslight their investors into believing that 'AI' is going to become a viable product that will make money. Or allow them to get rid of human workers, so their bottom line looks flush (spoiler alert, they have to rehire people, as AI can't do many of the things a live person with training can).

There reason why this shit is shoved in everything is because it doesn't have good general use cases and the collection of usage data from people. Most people don't give money to AI companies, only those who have drank the Kool-Aid do, as they are hope-posting and gaslighting people into believing the current or future capabilities of 'AI'. LLMs are really great at specific things, collating fine-tuned databases and making them highly searchable by specialists in a field. However, as always the techbros always want to do too much, they need to make a 'wonder tool' that inevitably fails and then these lying techbros need to quickly figure out the next scam.

  • Another Anthropic stunt...It doesn't have a mind or soul, it's just an LLM, manipulated into this outcome by the engineers.

  • As I am socially anxious; it's rough to interact with others. However, I will stay strong and try to participate when possible. As, communities do survive if they actually work with one another despite their differences. We can survive Trump's cursed presidency through working together. The rich fear that shit, this is why the policies Republicans are pushing are so disruptive for the working class. To reduce the odds of them being able to work communally to fight against oligarchs and their mouthpiece Republicans/MAGA sympathizers.

  • This is just a troll, clearly wants to argue unnecessarily.

  • This is why I voted for Kamala, as it would've reduced harm for a little while...Long enough to figure out an effective counter. Right now, I am using my voice as best as possible to reduce further harm (with the Big Bad Bill coming into effect soon) I dread losing my insurance and wasting away because untreated it's a guarantee. Given that I live in a mostly Red State, I could be one of the 17 million affected, or spared because I work part-time... If there are elections in the future, I will be voting with harm reduction in mind every time. Unless America becomes a doomed Fascist Nation which devours itself from within.

  • Promoting a petition that Lemmy as a whole unites against Lemmy.ml might get some traction building. I could only hope that if it succeeded, the mass defederation would begin in earnest.
