I really want to see a data viz of whether/how much users are spreading out. Anyone got the data on user counts over time by instance?

Yeah I mean it’s a lot harder to take back your territory if you’re limited to only fighting within that territory. They’ll have to strike within Russian borders to successfully get their own land back.
No I mean there’s some weird bug in Memmy. My second account went down and I had to reinstall Memmy to access my first one
Until that other one goes down, then memmy really struggles to let you in. At least that’s what happened to me.
Have you figured out an efficient way to mirror your community subscription list between them?
It’s true that several instances (the ones hosted in Mali?) closed, but I think you’re premature in saying the smaller instances are disappearing, Lemmy.one included.
Sure, they’re bound to crash or go down for maintenance from time to time, but that doesn’t mean they’re finished. So far my experience has been that if you give it a couple days they’ll be back. Keep in mind these are shoestring operations and sometimes seeing major influxes of users.
Reality has a known liberal bias
Charles de Gaulle Airport. Nothing more to be said
You’re going to have to accept that it’ll hurt for a long time. Give yourself some grace and let yourself be heartbroken for as long as you need. It sucks, but you’ll snap out of it eventually.
Two things that will probably help:
It’s easy to skip into a hole and wallow there. While you have to let yourself grieve, you also have to put in the work to have a constructive life. Treat it as a responsibility to get up and do something each day.
Omg I fucking hate food blogs. Nobody wants an essay on the history of lentils followed by a 5-page story about the first time the author tried coriander!
Just give me a bullet point list you assholes! I don’t care if you get more ad money if I have to scroll for 30 seconds.
Desperately needed tl;dr:
Wear an N95 or stay indoors.
Different personal preferences I guess!
Thanks. Is that a term?
Depends on what you mean by being treated well. The tech industry typically has fantastic office spaces, benefits and pay, but generally speaking they get overworked and under appreciated.
Social work, public health, education and that kind of “good for the world” work (not sure how to lump it all together) typically has bad pay, long hours, and unpleasant work spaces, but a really high degree of appreciation by their coworkers, superiors and clients.
Just some examples I’m familiar with
Amen. The “AI” everyone is freaking out about is good at a narrow range of things, but either dumb as shit or completely incapable otherwise
False. It is illegal to discriminate against someone based on race, religion or sex, according to Title 2 of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
America was at a crossroads of what freedom really meant 60 years ago, not today. It is now long-established law that freedom is the ability to shop wherever.
All that is up for debate is whether sexual orientation should be included, despite not being explicitly included. Textualists say no, intentionalists say yes.
You’re right. It only just came up in my feed but it’s old. I’ll take my comment down to avoid confusion.
Lemmy.World is back up and the admin who got hacked is claiming it’s fixed. However, REMAIN CAUTIOUS. No other admins have confirmed that it’s fixed. Could easily be the hacker pretending to be the admin.
Lots of discussion happening over on kbin. It’s not clear if any user data has been stolen but some commenters are doubtful. The most important thing is we should not trust links on that site as they could be malware.

“Heavier than any other creature, including the dinosaurs”… this author doesn’t seem to know that blue whales are heavier than any of the dinosaurs.
