College-educated white women backed Harris. All college-educated groups did. Maybe Democrats should work on making college more affordable, and accessible to women with small children. Frankly we should anyway. We should also start helping girls that get pregnant in high school finish with their diploma so college will be an option in their future. Especially since more of them are going to be forced to carry the pregnancy to term.
California’s “sweet time” includes allowing votes postmarked on Election Day to arrive and be counted. You might not be happy waiting but I’m glad to live in a state that values every vote and makes voting as accessible as possible. I won’t say “easy” because our ballot was 6 pages long, but it was easy to read and mark at home, and mail or put in a box or hand to a person.
This is true and good. But with the Supreme Court in Trump’s pocket the results may not be great.

Agreed on both points. The second means today is safer although Project 2025 spells danger ahead.
As for Trump, his physical deterioration and dementia and just general chaos of intentions are more of a check on him accomplishing evil than anything legal or political. When he runs the economy completely off the rails will it spark anything in the midterms? Will his Cabinet change every week? How long until he “never met” Elon?
So we draw breath, and persevere.
But how do you count “didn’t vote”? And what about “voted on other parts but not for President because genocide or whatever”? That second group might be countable, but the first is like proving a negative
You can outlive this. There’s a good chance he can’t. Be strong, and look out for those more vulnerable than yourself.
Guarantee a Trump victory, that is.
I agree it’s horrible that Israel has killed hundreds of Palestinians for every person killed in the Hamas attack, and Harris needs to find a way to rein in Netanyahu if she becomes President. And that may be by withholding all weapons. But if and when Trump takes power, he’s going to help his buddy Bibi nuke Gaza into a wasteland as a Final Solution to the Palestinian problem. Harris needs every last vote, even from those who support Zionism, but have other reasons for voting against Trump.

What’s incredible to me is that the results really aren’t very good. We all know what they looked like young, and the AI version is just… Not Wright. No Hanks, AI.
I think that was their point, the hypocrisy.

They need to at least pretend to believe she won’t completely abandon Israel. If she can beat Trump, she’ll then be free to call a genocide a genocide. In any case, Trump wants to end the war by letting his buddy Bibi nuke Gaza and just fucking kill all the Palestinians. A “final solution” as it were.
Which would be huge. Right now Medicare doesn’t cover long-term care at all, and programs that do, push people into facilities that cost more per day than in-home care. And it’s a huge stress for the younger generations that get stuck taking care of their wrinklies. With the population lump getting older, this is becoming more important every year.

I’m going to grant you the statistic, sadly the misogyny runs very deep in this country.
And I’ll point out it still sets up the same dichotomy as “men fear a woman will laugh at them, women fear a man will rape and/or kill them.”
Ugh. I hate Alito and everything he stands for, including the general notion of denying someone the right to run as a write-in candidate.
But at the same time, we need every non-Trump vote. If someone really believes they need to vote for West, that’s our loss, but I admit I’m glad they’re not putting his name where it will catch the eye of someone who just “doesn’t like Harris enough,” and would loudly deny they impulsively chose him because he’s a man.
Clearly a lot of men heard what he really meant by that and liked it.
