I started !europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com. Which is probably a better choice since europe.pub is also "commited to enforcing German law and will probably face these same issues in the future when the truth and reality inevitably disagrees with German Zionist Law.
So that the gist of it is that they're doubling down on the Zionist apologia and the IHRA definition of antisemitism basically. And are trying to frame all the issues as some trolls making accusations against them instead of something to consider. Good to know.
Just so everyone is aware I made a !europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com community thinking this might happen. If you want a Europe community that isn't run by Zionists or an instance committed to an actively Zionist policy you should check it out.
Also IMO as much as @Deceptichum@quokk.au may cause issues, if Quokk.au wants to defederate that is their admin's decision and trying to blame another user because their admin chose to defederate is disgusting and childish. Shame on Feddit.org for acting like children on the playground calling someone else a "tattle-tale" for getting actioned by admins after being called out.
I think it's something to be careful of though since mods and admins may yield to it out of fear or lack of knowledge and start going after criticism of Zionism thinking that it will be seen as antisemitism.
Content illegal under Austrian, German, or EU laws (e.g., child exploitation, incitement to hate, or terrorism advocacy) will not be tolerated.
To me that seems like they'd cater to Germany's legally codified definition of "antisemitism" AKA anti-Zionism. Maybe they won't do that but I don't trust them.
I'd do it but I'm not super interested in modding such a large community and I'm not sure if @db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com would want such a big general community here. I'd create it if he's okay with it and if people would be willing to step up to replace me.
YDI, you should take the message. Your ragebaitng isn't seen as acceptable. Now when people including the mod are calling you out on it, instead of stopping and disengaging you're doubling down and calling them Zionists. This doesn't help you, it's just going to make your situation worse.
What I wasn’t expecting is Ada’s response. She said in the modlogs she also felt the post was rage bait. I didn’t see that coming because I didn’t think Ada was a zionist. I thought she would be fine with seeing zionists get angry, because they get angry over the most mild things.
Is Ada supporting zionism?
Looks like she just can't help herself, the message has been made clear and she continues to stir the pot...
Willing to bet if their priorities are where I think they are, they won't do that. Why would they want to facilitate easy discussion of or against their Zionist policies? No if we want that here someone will have to crosspost it most likely.
Are you trying to say that anti-Zionism is equivalent to antisemitism? Because that's the only reason I can think of for why you'd try and make such an argument. To try and contrast or disagree with my statement that Zionism and Judaism are in fact different things.
I maintain the fact that they are different and that calling out Zionism and Zionist apologia is not only acceptable but should be encouaged. People who call such people "Antisemitic" are Zionist trolls who should not be listened to and instead should be named and shamed, and ultimately banned from common spaces.
It seemed like that's what they were doing due to the context of the comment they were responding to, like they're trying to both-sides the argument about the Israel genocide.
Seems like they've been banning people who don't cater to or go along with their Zionist apologia. They've also been locking and removing many such posts in support of Palestine, or critical of Israel.
Hey do you think we should maybe have a vote for adding a clause against Zionism and Zionist apologia to the Golden rules officially? I think that would probably be a good idea. Should go without saying but from what I've seen in this thread I think it's probably necessary.
How about just [Policy]
