  • I only have intermediate knowledge. Most of it comes from sources like Behind the Bastards, Lions Led by Donkeys, Perun, Civilis Historia, Ken Burn's Civil War, Ken Burn's Vietnam, and so forth. You will have to ask a veteran officer or historian for better information. Anyhow, I will relate what I vaguely recall.

The Trump Regime has been doing many things to erode the competence and loyalty of the federal military. For example, destroying the cultural clubs that soldiers were part of, removing medical care from LGBTQ+ members, eliminating proven minority leadership and replacing them with white dudes like Hegseth, whitewashing history like the 'Enola Gay' from military libraries, and so on. This also applies to three-letter agencies. In effect, the most capable soldiery of America's military is no longer part of the federal government, which allows them to be hired by Blue States.

Also, the United States are huge. Short of decapitating the majority of Blue State leadership in one fell blow, it is unlikely for the Trump Regime to own the majority of the military. The soldiers and their leaders are much more likely to be loyal to their respective states than the concept of the United States, especially if the federal government has been mistreating them. Trump himself said that soldiers are suckers, and they will remember such acts of disrespect towards their service. Soldiers are not automated drones, they have thoughts and feelings, as many an empire has fatally discovered.

After the 1st American Civil War was declared, many people throughout the nation moved around to wherever was more ideologically suited to them. You had southerners joining the north's military, and the reverse. If a new civil war breaks out, it is very likely that the half of the first year would be spent on shuffling around men and hardware, alongside communities deciding where they belong. It would be extremely messy, and won't lend itself to an instant resolution of a war.

  • When it comes to disease and medicine, the two most valuable things for preserving life, is infrastructure (shelter), and logistics. Back in WW2, troops that ended up in places far from urban hubs tended to be exposed to the elements or had to string out their supplies. As such, they tended to die from a mixture of cold, mosquitos, heat, famine, wet, and filth. Where America is concerned, it SHOULD be relatively safe for most soldiers, because there is an abundance of roads that pass by some form of shelter.

However, I suspect that the Trump Regime would have difficulty with managing logistics. It seems like that they don't value nor understand supply chains or other fine details. The National Guard troops that were deployed to LA, for example, didn't have bedding for resting. While those troops can tank an one-off like that, the Regime has been dismantling all sorts of things that keep people in tip-top shape. For example, the erosion of the weather service, means that soldiers will be more easily exposed to bad conditions. The destruction of food quality inspection, means that troops are more likely to have bad rations. Medical services are being rolled back, too. Trade with foreign nations is also likely to be cut off or reduced, which also means that troops could be lacking boots. (Quality boots are literal life or death for deployed troops.) All of this adds up to troops becoming vulnerable to the Four Horsemen.

It is my expectation that the Blue States would win a prolonged civil war, simply because they tend to understand the implications of policy.

While not directly related to vaccines, the latest episode of Perun goes over the economics of soldiers, including medical costs. It is a good channel if you want analysis about modern conflicts. I wouldn't be surprised if Perun starts covering America itself in the coming decade.

The Long-Term Costs of War - The Price of Life, Economics of Casualties & Russia's War

  • If there is a 2nd American Civil War, I would be alright with conservatives not having vaccines. Disease was the #1 cause of fatalities in warfare, and I would like to have fewer enemies to fight.

  • We need more lizards.

  • Historians will be arguing when the 2nd American Civil War started. For some, it was the end of Reconstruction. Others, the Business Plot. Yet closer to now, when the Heritage Foundation was created.

All I know, is that many pieces of shit were allowed to fester.

  • Apparently, NG units tend to be deployed for about 29 days then removed. Day 30 is when they get a pay increase. I can't imagine that instilling much loyalty towards the regime in these soldiers, when the football keeps being pulled away.

  • On one hand, it would be nice if he died a horrible and painful death. On the other, I would prefer him to do so after failing to win an 2nd American Civil War. if there is an inevitable fight, I want the enemy leadership to be the dumbest and most clumsy jackasses possible. That would save lives for the good guys, and make Reconstruction easier to complete.

  • I don't. However, it is the most obvious way for other nations to attack America without drawing attention. Hopefully, the same vulnerability would also allow the John Browns of our time to crack open concentration centers from the inside.

  • I have a prediction: the more professional and organized members of ICE would actually be foreign agents, causing problems at key points. Say, for example, "vanishing" unfriendly politicians. ICE is the perfect cover: Low recruitment standards, no regulation, bounties for those times you need to get money, and no one able to ask questions.

It would be the chaotic and unprofessional members of ICE that are native to the USA. Those would be just into ICE for the money and racism, not patriotism to their nation. This will become a "Lions Led by Donkeys" episode in a decade or two.

  • Incoming drones are one of my worries. If anything calls for emptying a clip, it would be that situation.

  • If you talking shotguns, I am an amateur, so use a hefty block of salt: I have a VR80. It is a semi-auto that uses magazines, which should make it better for military situations. My guess is that if civil war breaks out, both sides will initially be recruiting troops with whatever kit they happen to have - formal outfitting by Blue States would depend on where and when you are, so it would be better to bring a gun that is fit for combat in the first place. If you live in California or other restrictive states, you remove a pin and split the gun in half, allowing the mag release to operate. Apparently a small piece of the tool can be removed to permanently enable the mag button.

The VR80 will take a good number of rounds fired before it starts to loosen up. Jamming is an issue during the break-in, but that is fine if you are practicing. This weapon in particular prefers more powerful rounds, and is designed to be ambidextrous, along with being AR-15 style for addons. If you can, ditch the stock - it doesn't telescope, and feels awkward to me.

How to: Choose the Right Shotgun Choke

  • For what it is worth, I have been practicing my long arm. I figure that the antifa states will need soldiers, so I should volunteer to be on the line. Here's hoping our efforts allow us to live in a better America. 🖖

  • One of the reasons why I picked a shotgun and use 000 buckshot is because of the spread. I assume my aim sucks, and hope that hitting the bad guys in a unarmored limb will be enough to remove them from a fight.

  • A bulletproof vest reduces harm, not negate it. Also, vests come in a variety of grades. As can one expect, the heavier and more expensive ones offer more protection, but those can still fail. Vests, like most insurance, only offers so much coverage from disaster.

    Body Armor Basics

  • Good. ICE and lookalikes are cut from the same putrid cloth, that is best disposed of.

  • I am waiting for SteamOS 3 Desktop to be released, so that I don't have to worry about this sort of thing, and have support from an 800lb gorilla. When I tried Mint back in January, my games weren't working right - Lutris, Hero Launcher, ect. Considering the amount of retro and Japanese games I play, having broken GOG installations wasn't a good start.

For now I am just sticking to Windows 11 IoT, but sooner or latter Microsoft's issues will be too much. Hopefully, SteamOS will be out by then.

  • It was true during the Great Depression and the Weimer Republic. I think Trump's profile would neatly slot into both of their shapes, if we are to predict the future.

  • If they want to fix this, they should put a "Trump did that!" sticker by the new prices.

  • Weld that sword into their asshole. I will bring the blowtorch.
