  • seemed obvious this would be happening.

  • UI is confusing, but its a good platform to learn. there are a lot of resources for doing typical stuff (dhcp, dns, wireguard, firewall rules, etc.)

  • Mikrotik makes a few that are rack ready. Not sure about rack size. They are extremely customizable and pretty cheap in the grand scheme. I absolutely love mine. some things I am using it for:

    • natively supports Wireguard, allowing me to keep everything private and just wireguard into my home network
    • I have set up firewall rules that force all DNS through my pihole, including those pesky LG/google devices that try to bring their own hardcoded DNS servers.
    • I have backed up my config to a script and literally trashed a switch a few weeks ago, bought a replacement and was up and running with the same config in <30 minutes of setup.

My one qualm with them, is their warranty service is pretty jank. The devices themselves are generally very good, but having had one die on me after 3 years, I was a little dejected I couldn't really get it replaced (they do still offer support though). If you need a specific recommendation the RB5009 is really solid for homelab stuff. The one saving grace is the routers are pretty cheap if you know what you need...replacing them (compared to a unifi or something else) is easier? if you're ok with that

  • Dunno about plexamp, but Plex has an auto-scan built in. Its disabled by default, but works like a charm. It listens for new file events and general finds things before you complete a download or copy

  • I agree!

  • Being pro gun, doesn't have to mean you're against sensible gun laws though

  • Legit confused on why you got down voted so hard. I am guessing people are confused by your comment, see the edit and decide to downvote you just because it feels right

  • Honestly, you're not helping your case.

  • You have to read the other chat logs. Arstechnica has a good summary I think, the link between "coming home" and suicide is specific to the kids chats with these AI.

  • This is specifically related to watching their free content. You can opt out of the sale & sharing of said data, which is used to play you targeted ads when watching their free content. I am not a big fan, but this is the typical "free" TV spiel. Was there something that changed recently or is it just being recognized now?

  • I know we're probably in agreement, but this is probably suicide. I think they pretty much shoot anyone near those border crossing/checkpoints that they aren't pre-notified on.

  • except his AI.

  • yea I think people where expecting a new DLC for it, but it seems they were also cooking up an entirely new game. Should be good, their CRPGs are always worth it (so far), even if they are not perfect.

  • yea, but BG3 didn't release in a complete state. With that said, Larian has delivered on their promise and that's really a good example of how a AA/AAA title can do early access in a good and healthy way.

  • True, I didn't really mean it to that extreme. and yea not saying gaming industry was perfect, there was plenty to gripe about in the past. Just on average, as a whole, the industry seems worse. The one exception I think are Indie games.

  • honestly though, the game is a complete package AND it doesn't come with a bunch of fucking microtransactions/live-service/etc. etc. Gaming is the one area where I think we would all like to see our games be made the same way they were 10-15 years ago, instead of the bullshit from today.

  • honestly though, calling it woke makes me want to check it now...so 🤷. I am not sure woke is the insult its intended to be.

  • the store is a losing proposition right now from CDPR perspective. I am just happy to have a different place I can buy games that's not steam
